Penny smiled at John's mother despite the pressure she was feeling. Her eyes looked everywhere but her.

"My sister wanted to visit you too. But I was afraid that you would not be in the condition to receive guests. Looks like i was right.'' She looked at the boiled vegetables with contempt. Whispering something under her breath. Penny shrunk her head. That was their whole day's meal. She had tried her best to leave an impression. Wearing the best dress she owned and bringing the best cutleries of her house.

"Anyways, I heard from John that you are buying a luxurious dress for your wedding. I do not know what luxury means for you, but I hope it is not faded and torn at least." Penny nodded, her back was drenched in cold sweat.
