A squeal left her lips and she held his shirt tightly, almost ripping it in the process until she felt a soft thud and realized they had landed on the ground again. He was not injured, he did not even lose his balance when he landed on the ground.
Her eyes slowly opened only to meet his dark one staring at her strangely. There was something in them she could not understand.
"You are safe! You are better." his voice came soothing, warm on a cold night to the limit that it burnt her core. She let go of his shirt and he let go of her body.
The loss of warmth hit her hard when her feet touched the ground.
"What are we doing here?" she looked away, hiding the loss on her face, when he walked behind her. Giving her the distance she required but making sure that they stay closer enough for him to take her back in his arms if required. "I am sure it is not only about seeing the beach at night. Right?"
