"Did you hear? Seri had visited the grand corner last night to buy a watermelon for the lady. The lady not only gave her a rare gem ring as reward but she also let her have the fruit." 

"But what if it was just a rumor? How could a noble gift gems to the maids carelessly?" Asked another maid when others shook their heads.

"No! The news is right. Daisy, Seri's roommate, had confirmed that Seri came back with a topaz ring. She was laughing and bragging how she had fooled the naive duchess. She did not even filter her mouth while badmouthing the duchess.

Yet the duchess gave her a reward." the maids disdained as they gossiped about Ana.

"But how will she run the duchy if she is this naive?"
