Adam entered the space containing the Dunegoen core. The faint blue shine of ether met him there.

"Erden, what's wrong?"

With his connection with Erden was cut off. Adam did not know what happened. But he could clearly see something was wrong with how dim Erden was.

"It is worse than I thought,"

Erden said it sluggishly.

"What's worse? What's wrong?"

"The weakening from ranking up is."

"Is this why you cutt off our connection? We are finally ranking up? But what do you mean it's worse? Isn't the worst Likely scenario supposed to be you being unable to control ether that well for some time?"

"More than just ether, I am completely unable to use even third-order energy. My ether senses have weakened, and my control over the goblins is feeble.
