It didn't take long, and Adrienne fell asleep, but her husband remained awake. Even after showering and returning to their bed with her, holding her in his arms, Lennox remained restless. He couldn't shake off the feeling of unease that had been nagging at him. No matter how Adrienne assured him, the dread that lingered in his mind refused to dissipate.

They planned to strike Alistair while Adrienne was distracting him, but Lennox didn't want her to go. He feared for her safety and couldn't bear the thought of something happening to her. After learning how Alistair treated her in her past life, how could he stand by and allow her to put herself in harm's way?

He didn't like the idea of her being left alone with Alistair. If possible, he would do whatever it takes to protect her from him, but it would be hard for Lennox to dissuade her from changing her mind. She was determined to face the danger head-on.
