Cayden was astounded upon hearing his father's plan.
"What? Do you want Kristoff to spy on Addie? That's a bit extreme, don't you think?" Cayden asked, feeling uneasy about the plan.
"It's necessary, son," Lewis replied, reassuringly touching his son's shoulder. "We need to know what she's planning and capable of doing. This company is our legacy; we can't let Addie ruin it. Your grandfather approves of it. He didn't care what would happen to Addie later since she was the one who made an enemy out of us."
Cayden nodded, still feeling unsure about the whole thing. But he knew better than to argue with his father.
"But Dad, what if Kristoff sees our plan and decides to betray us?" Cayden asked, worried.
Lewis placed a reassuring hand on his son's shoulder. "Kristoff is a businessman, just like us. He understands the importance of loyalty. And besides, he isn't someone who would easily succumb to the charm of a woman."
