Bab 335: A Deal for Sponsorship, Part 2

"You said it yourself…dwarves hate my people," Caelestis reminded me. 

I crossed my arms over my chest. "So?" 

"Who am I?" she asked. 

'You're Lunden Löwenthal's absentee mom,' was what my belligerent side wanted to say, but instead, I opted for, "You're a high-ranking member of the Lūmen…Oh!" 

Caelestis was a Lūmenaire, meaning she was kind of like a knight errant who protected the elven people. Mostly the ljósálfar, and maybe the other elven races too, but certainly not the dökkálfar or the more elusive svartálfar. It made sense that she wouldn't want the dwarves to have an artifact as powerful as Gungnir's missing spear tip. 

"Wait…" I frowned. "Do you know something I don't?" 

"What do you mean?" she asked.
