Shameful Act and Winner
Due to him always working as a team in the special force, Ramero has always been following the plan and has immense talent in executing it perfectly. If the objective fails, whatever it is, then often it was not his fault but rather the plan itself that provides no clear path for the objective.
Just like right now, his mind automatically created a plan and fit in the factors needed.
Acknowledging that he has insufficient combat skills to win against Soul Hunter heads-on, his mind managed to conjure a plan that utilizes external factors to achieve a victory against the formidable opponent in front of him.
Spatial awareness is key to reaching the desired outcome, and that comes to play right now.
Everything started and processed when he caught sight of the metal snake trap that Laughing Butcher has told him about, he almost instantly created a decent plan to make Soul Hunter hit the metal snake and gets trapped on his spot.
It was a perfect stage for the final showdown, the plan to kill Soul Hunter.
Ramero knows that even though he managed to immobilize Soul Hunter's legs and forced him to stay on his spot, it's still going to be difficult for him to literally kill Soun Hunter. Aside from his legs, his arms are still free to move and that still makes him very dangerous.
An obstacle that he needed to think of, but thankfully the answer presented itself.
Gathering the other Gladiators to gang up on Soul Hunter would be impossible, they are trapped in their own fights and also the Deathbound Colosseum wouldn't like to see the Gladiators ganging up on Soul Hunter.
This is a Gladiator match, an all-out brawl is the only thing needed here, not teamwork.
But that obstacle can be solved by the tiger beast chained at the center of the arena. Out of everyone here, this tiger beast which is way bigger than the tiger in Ramero's home world can definitely take on Soul Hunter itself.
Now it's becoming clearer since Soul Hunter seems to be scared of the tiger.
Laughing Butcher that watches this with hazy vision was surprised that Ramero managed to lure Soul Hunter to this trap. It was because of the information he gave nonetheless, showing that Ramero is quite attentive to little details and a quick thinker.
It came as a shock because this is not just another Gladiator, but this was Soul Hunter!
One of the best Gladiators below the tenth rank from the School of Clarity, possessing many matches under his belt which shows his prowess. But just like Laughing Butcher said, the metal snake is so deadly that even veteran Gladiators can still fall for that trap.
From the looks of it, Laughing Butcher doesn't seem to be lying when he said that.
"Crazy bastard, you actually manage to defeat Soul Hunter" Laughing Butcher mutters weakly, he feels weak with the poison circulating inside his body but the corner of his mouth still quirks up into a smile.
Although it's early to tell, the School of Tyranny might just gain another monster.
Ramero raises the sword in his hand before he gazes at the crowd, he was starting to become the crowd's favorite in this first match as he constantly interacts with them. Knowing what he meant, the crowd answered rigorously.
"Kill him! Let the beast devours him!!"
"Unleash the beast!! It looks to be hungry!!"
"HAHAH! I can't believe he managed to trap Soul Hunter, go kill him! You deserve it!!"
Similar to the crowd, Agatha and Nicholas were shocked by this scene.
Most of the Gladiators are honing their fighting skills in order to survive the performance that has a high chance of killing them, but Ramero has taken another route and takes advantage of the arena more than the other Gladiators.
Utilizing little Draqua, using his opponent's weapon, and now metal snake.
Nicholas then mutters in disbelief, he was surprised by the twist of this first match. "What a sharp-eyed Gladiator, he fights as ruthlessly as the other Gladiators but was still able to take advantage of his surroundings. If I saw him fight on the street, I would've thought that he's a mage with that kind of awareness"
While looking at Ramero, he added, "Noble Brat huh... he's one scary Gladiator alright"
Agatha who is also watching this scene can't help but lower her gaze to the ground, her shoulders started trembling and so do her hands. She was trembling out of excitement, Noble Brat actually going to kill Soul Hunter and this excites her.
Hearing the chant of the crowd, Ramero smiled and slash his sword at the metal chain.
Clang!
Upon feeling the tightness around its neck had completely ceased to exist, the eager tiger beast growled ferociously, exposing its sharp fangs that can tear through metal plates and flesh easily as eating butter.
Fixated on Soul Hunter who is bleeding from his legs, the tiger beast pounced strongly.
Growl!
Soul Hunter tries desperately to break the metal snake to no avail. In the end, he can only try to stab the tiger beast a couple of times before his right leg got torn off from his torso. Blood sprayed everywhere as the beast tiger started munching on his right leg delightfully.
Alongside this gore, the crowd becomes even wilder, enjoying the feast of the tiger beast.
Not wanting to be the next victim, the other Gladiators ceased their fights and create a distance between themselves and the tiger beast. "NO! HELP!! I DON'T WANT TO DIE!!" the scream of help coming from Soul Hunter reverberated inside the arena.
But his scream falls on deaf ears, nobody has the will to go against the tiger beast.
Crawling away, trying to desperately cling to life, Soul Hunter tries to survive but the tiger beast bites him and managed to tear a chunk of meat from his chest and shoulder. Was right then and there a loud ringing sound resounded throughout the entire arena.
It was the sign of the end of the first match, the time limit has reached zero.
Upon hearing this ringing sound, Ramero saw the tiger beast was instantly entrapped by a grey bubble, a magic sphere from the looks of it to stop the tiger beast from going rampant. But it didn't manage to finish Soul Hunter completely.
'Lucky, but he's not going to make it' Ramero thought with a click of his tongue.
Ramero didn't wander for too long and turned around to face the announcer, there should be a celebratory event for the victor of the first match. With Soul Hunter in that state, the School of Tyranny should be the one that came out first.
Just as he was wandering inside his head, his body suddenly tensed when he felt something.
Looking over his shoulder Ramero was utterly speechless when he saw a saber is flying right at his head. It was definitely Soul Hunter, he was not expecting a cheap attack after the match ended like this. 'Shit! I can't dodge in time!' Ramero screamed inside his head.
When he looked back, the sword is already a second away from hitting his head.
If the sword really did manage to hit him, there was no doubt that his head would be pierced from behind and he would definitely drop dead. But as the sword reaches a meter away from his eyes, it stopped mid-track.
Swish!
Upon realizing the sword has stopped, Ramero blinks his eyes a couple of times.
For the first time inside this body, he can feel death so close to him. But thankfully, death doesn't pick him up today. Glancing to the side, Ramero finds a woman descending to the arena from the VIP seats with an air of elegance.
One of her hands is stretched forward, glowing with a blue hue that beautifully matches her clothes.
Although he was just experienced a near-death experience, he was stunned by the woman's elegance and charm. Her golden hair blazes even brighter under the sunlight, her blue dress feels like a cool wind, and the jewelry added a beautiful touch to her appearance.
'Compared to the models I've dated, she can hold her own against them in terms of beauty'
Shaking his head, he realized that it was her that stopped the saber in mid-air.
It was clear that the subtle deep blue glow in her hand is her magical powers, the stuff she used to stop the flying saber without even touching it. 'She has a different magic color compared to Scorpion and Leandra...' Ramero noticed, he was mesmerized by the beautiful blue color that is deeper than Leandra's magic powers.
But his eyes shifted away from her hand to her cold expression, hiding a hint of killing intent.
The woman descend to the arena through blue stairs that looks like a hologram, but it was definitely magic. With each stair she took, the coldness and killing intent in her face becomes even clearer than before.
Soul Hunter that is in a terrifying state breathes roughly while looking at the woman.
"As a respectable Wolf Gladiator from the School of Clarity, it was very low of you to attack another Gladiator after the match ended, Soul Hunter. It was an act that shames the Gladiator sport, and will not be tolerated here in Deathbound Colosseum" the woman stated, her voice having a clear tone of authority and power.
Reacting the same, the crowd started booing Soul Hunter for doing a cheap attack.
After saying that the woman's hand glowed again but this time she was pointing at Soul Hunter. A streak of fear can be seen on Soul Hunter's face, he wanted to open his mouth and plead but the woman didn't give him any time for that.
With a blue glow in her eyes, she chanted lightly, "Trident."
Swish!
Crack!
Out of nowhere, a blue trident two times the size of Soul Hunter protruded from the ground and impaled Soul Hunter from the back. It was a powerful thrust that Soul Hunter's body was lifted off the ground as his blood slowly drizzles down through the handle of the trident.
It happened in a blink of an eye, and Ramero was surprised by this scene.
'Powerful... she's way stronger than Scorpion!' Ramero exclaimed inside his head, he was not expecting such an elegant lady from a noble household such as her to be this strong. But then again, this world revolves around power, he should've expected this.
Even though Soul Hunter is already dead, the crowd still booed at him for shaming the match.
After the punishment given to Soul Hunter, the woman turns around with a pliant smile on her face. It was completely different compared to the expression she was wearing before, her entire demeanor also changed.
"Since there are three Gladiators left from each school, the match should've ended with a draw!"
Reclaiming back the arena and also the shameful act Soul Hunter did, the announcer takes over. "But since Soul Hunter has done something that breached the rules of the Deathbound Colosseum, the School of Tyranny is announced as the winner of the first match!! With the Gladiator of the match, Noble Brat!!"
Roar!!
The crowd burst once again, chanting the nickname Noble Brat that gives them a good show.
Not only was he a Greenhorn that doesn't have any performance under his belt that managed to kill stronger Gladiators, but he also did it with such charm that can entrap the crowd's attention and force them to watch him out of excitement.
It was rare to find a Gladiator with such a charm, and now they were blessed with Noble Brat.
But contrary to the crowd that wanted to see Noble Brat cheer in triumph, Ramero frowned when he heard what the announcer just said, 'A draw...? Three Gladiators left from our school?' he thought in confusion.
Glancing to his back in search of a certain someone, Ramero's eyes suddenly trembled.
Leaning on a pillar not too far from where Ramero is standing was Laughing Butcher, his body already half-way slides down to the ground with a pool of blood below him. It makes Ramero unconsciously hold his breath.
Staring at one of his friends inside the school who is lying weakly, he felt his blood turns cold.
"Laughing Butcher...?"
