The ride to the palace was a quiet one. The difference between the two women was so profound that it'd be easy to be picked up on by a third party if they were present.

The speed by which Matron Valentina sped along convinced Afina that Prince Cargan must have said something to her.

Why was the Prince on her side? Was a question that lingered in her mind. Could the prince's pride be so resonant that he couldn't stomach having his personal maid expelled without his permission?

Either way, they soon arrived at the Palace, and just as Afina was about to step outside of the car, the Matron's voice halted her.

"I want you to know that you won't last here. Your stay will soon be cut short, you just wait. It's best for you to be well-behaved 'cause I will be watching you." She supplied and sped away, pouring whatever rage was in her into the driving.
