Bab 96: Going Too Far

Salis continued walking forward, her eyes confirming that the haggard man before her was indeed her fiance. Just as she was about to open her mouth to question him, a shouting voice echoed from somewhere in the distance.

"A massive scandal! Salis Winterfall gets cucked! Will the marriage hold?!"

'Wha-'

The voice echoed through the street before eventually fading away. Newspapers focusing on drama weren't really a thing here in Edain, and it didn't really make sense for any random person to run around saying such a thing. 

The reasoning behind the shouter, though, quickly moved to the back of Salis's mind.

She strode up to her fiance, staring him dead in the eyes.

"Kilian. What did you do?"

Recognizing the girl before him, Killian retreated a few steps as fear surfaced on his face. The cloudiness in his eyes quickly disappeared as he realized he'd definitely messed up.

"Ah, Salis! How's your morning been?"
