"After I won the bake-off, Mrs. Feng did ask about the secret recipe cake. But, she didn't explain further. She admitted that she did a background check on me. That was when she was certain about Grandpa Chen."

Liliana was stunned by the revelation. The look of surprise on her face morphed into delight once she understood how well-meaning that fate was.

"The grandfather's secret recipe led you to his family after decades. Wasn't it such a good fate?" said Liliana after pondering for a moment.

According to Lucas, Mrs. Feng was known to be strict. But, she also did well in guiding her students. Her reputation at the culinary institute was good.

Lucas nodded once, confirming Liliana's guess.
