Whistling Creek, Tuesday.
Once Liliana and Lucas got out of the cab, she said to him, "I'll pay you the fare back."
Laughing softly, Lucas shook his head, "No need. I deliberately booked the cab before you did it so that I could pay for it. I'll enjoy the lunch you'll treat me."
Lucas' words prompted laughter out of Liliana's lips. The sound blended with the echoes of the rustling leaves around them.
"Hehe, if you say so."
Today was the day Liliana promised Dylan to meet over lunch. Lucas followed her after agreeing to come along. She told Cassia that she might go to the sanatorium again a bit later.
"Mom, once you're better, I'll take you there. I know you'll love that place."
Before Liliana left the sanatorium to go to the cafe, she didn't forget to say that to Cassia. Her mother smiled at her before nodding, indicating that she understood.
