Nathan sent someone to pick Bella up in Dallas, until Bella could hardly believe his generosity. "I can go by myself," Bella said when Nathan called to tell her that. "You don't have to be that way with me."

  "Just think of it this way, that you're still a member of my family after all. Legally, you're still Mrs. Wilford at this point. In our family, a good uncle wouldn't mind picking up his nephew's wife if necessary. The thing is, I couldn't pick you up because you know I don't like driving myself even though Dallas and Fort Worth are no more than an hour away. So, I sent a driver to pick you up."

  "So what if I drove myself?"

  "Don't argue," he snapped. "Don't forget that you're here to help me. So, I'm the one who organizes everything."
