Ella was looking at me and asked if I was crazy, studying so much only to ruin myself now for a girl. I told her she was not just a girl; she was my heart, my mind, my balm, my life. Ella blushed with embarrassment and asked how I could say such things so easily.

I replied that I had studied so much that I had no shame left, and what I had seen was nothing compared to what was in front of her. She asked what else was there, and I told her I was a lawyer, a surgeon, a doctor. Just imagine what I must have studied. Ella remained silent and continued eating.

Ela: Can I ask a question?

Ee: Yes, of course! You have every right to ask, and I am ready to answer all your questions.

Ela: What are we now, enemies or friends? For example, what are we?
