Ana paced around the room, digging her fingers into her fists to a point of pain. Racking her brains for a solution, she pat her pockets for her phone so she could call someone to break open the door.

Just when she thought things couldn't get worse, her rotten luck took it upon itself to prove her wrong. Her heart sank when she realized that she had left her phone behind in her haste to leave the clinic. A hysterical laugh escaped her lips, as if to mock her helplessness.

Elliot's words swirled in her mind like a terrifying tornado. Over five hundred rogues? Claws that you electrocute a victim? An onslaught of dizziness overcame her as she tried to process her thoughts and she sank onto the bed to steady her legs that seemed to be giving out from under her. She swallowed so many curses against Elliot that she did not feel the need to eat anymore.
