Bab 52: Chapter 52: Shades of Doubt

Tears trickled down my face as images of my parents ran through my mind. Images of my mother brushing my hair when I was little, my father lifting me onto his shoulders, and then images of them lying in pools of their own blood, dead.

They didn’t deserve to die.

My father had struggled his whole life to elevate his status within the Pack, but Alpha Shane kept pushing him right back down. As hard-working as my father was, he should have been a Delta by now, at least, maybe even a Beta. But then again, the title of Beta is reserved for the Alpha’s right-hand men.

But then again, my father never wanted status. If the Pack had just respected him, he would have been happy, regardless of his rank.

Alone, I sobbed onto the pillow, unable to believe they were gone and Logan and his family might be responsible. It was just too much to fathom.
