Everyone was shocked to see Iris' defiant side. Even Cane was not an exception, though his mind was not in the right headspace.

This was the first time he received a 'no' from Iris so firmly. She tried her hardest to stand her ground and he could see how much she suppressed her fear when she defied him, even so, she was stubborn to back down and oblige him.

Iris balled her fists, she waited for Cane's next response or what he was going to say when she openly rejected his order in front of his people.

Other alphas would have beaten one to death if their woman so much as made a refusal to a direct order, especially when it happened in front of the other pack members. It was almost like a slap to the Alpha's face to have someone challenge their command.
