Without giving the aftermath of her actions a second thought, Madeline's hand reached for the fork on the counter, and to Jeremy's unexpected alarm, she quickly stabbed his hand with the sharp mouths of the fork, forcing his hold on her to instantly drop, and Madeline swirled out of his grip, pointing the fork frantically at his face.

"You..!!.." he winced when the pain on his wrist abruptly stung him straight up to his shoulder. To say he was shocked by her retaliation was clearly an understatement. She really stabbed him with a fork without thinking about what he might do to her in return.

Looking at his wrist, the mouth of the fork had left four red signs of the stab it had inflicted on his skin, and he tilted his head back up, glaring at her for daring to do this in the first place.
