Bab 36: Relief

I hadn’t gotten to the part where my son and I lived the kind of life where we didn’t have to worry about what happened the next day, our stomachs and pockets full.

Hence, I had no time for rest or slack.

After the encounter with Alpha Matteo, I was troubled, mad and fretting over how he suddenly became interested in the son he didn’t want to do anything with at the beginning.

I didn’t make it to the diner and apologized to Tisha for waiting on me. I headed home and stayed in the shower for half an hour trying to cool my head.

The meal I ate tasted bland and I went back to the hospital. Aunt Maurice greeted me, her eyes lighting up.

“Good news!” she exclaimed, pulling me into a tight hug. Her smile gave me hope.

“What is it, Auntie?”

“The doctor came in a while ago. I called you but you didn’t answer.”

I was back to gripping the strap of my bag. My anger flared at the flashback that happened, recalling the reason why I couldn’t pick up her calls.
