"Home sweet home," Roxanne sighed, sinking into the sofa with a satisfied smirk. She and Luciana had just returned from their stay in the Underworld, leaving Azrael behind to wrap up some work at Grigori. With the chaos surrounding the Devil Council, it would likely be at least a week before Azrael could join them.
As she thought about the faces of those old geezers on the Council, Roxanne's smirk deepened into a grin. The reason those captured members spilled everything wasn't due to any interrogation technique—it was because of *her* curse.
Demonic runes were quite handy when it came to curses, and Roxanne had used two particularly interesting ones. She had cast runes that forced the council members to speak the truth, no matter what. The curse worked so well that, to them, it felt like they were bragging, boasting about their dark deeds like drunken fools. They couldn't stop themselves, and their minds didn't even consider the consequences.
Even their binding contracts—agreements meant to protect their secrets—were useless under this curse. Contracts only work when the mind recognizes the breach, and thanks to her runes, their minds didn't even register what they were confessing.
And since no one expected them to spill every secret the Devil Council couldn't step in and protect them. After all those guys were confessing some very serious crimes. If the devil council tries to protect them even after they confess their crimes that would only mean they don't care about the authority of the four Satans.
Even though the Devil Council is formed to keep the four Satans in check in a world where the strongest fist rule this is basically nonsense. If the four Satans don't care about the consequences they could massacre the devil council and be done with it.
But maybe it is fate but none of the Satans are muscleheads or bloodthirsty monsters. It is their sanity and responsibilities that shackle them allowing them to be exploited by the Devil Council.
But a sleeping dragon is a dragon nonetheless. If the Devil Council cornered them too much the dragon would bear its fang on them and destroy them without mercy.
So the Devil Council tried to do the next best thing. And that is to bury this incident so that no one would know anything.
But how could Roxanne who wanted to clean away these geezers let them do as they please? Roxanne used her numerous connections and released the reports of the council members' confessions to the public through the Internet.
In a world where the news travels fast, the reports became a big hit on the internet, in a matter of minutes the reports were in 1st place on the trending list on the DevilNet. At the end of the day whole underworld knew about the incident.
And so with everyone knowing the truth the Devil Council had to face a huge backlash. No matter what organization it is reputation is very important for them.
And with the government losing their credibility they would lose their authority. And if things went downhill there would be another Civil war. And this time they would not be standing on the winning side like last time.
So what would the Devil Council do now? Nothing. They could do nothing but lay low until this incident is forgotten. They could also resign from their positions but in the long run that would only bite them back. Not to mention the positions are still the last guarantee that would save their lives.
After all, being a council member guarantees their safety from basically anything. Most of the council members use this privilege to save their asses when they offended the wrong person. And since they didn't learn any humility they have made countless enemies that were eagerly waiting for them to lose their protection.
This is why even when they want to retire and withdraw from the limelight they cannot do it. As they would be dead either way.

" Mistress I brought you some sweets " Luciana came to the living room as they pushed a small cart full of sweets.
Although it wasn't that long before both of them arrived at the mansion Luciana as the perfect maid didn't take any rest and immediately went back to work.
"Oh I was starving " Roxanne immediately stood up as her eyes glowed with hunger. In the past days, she couldn't enjoy Luciana's sweets as the guest mansion they were given had numerous spies that were monitering them.
Since Luciana is still a wanted criminal in the underworld she has always been inside Roxanne's shadow. Since she couldn't really call Luciana out to bake some sweets Roxanne had to endure her craving for the past few days.
" mmm " As Roxanne began to enjoy the delicious sweets Luciana who was standing to the side asked, " Mistress what is your next course of action. I'm sure it wouldn't be long before the underworld discovers your identity "
Although Roxanne had a veil to cover her face it wouldn't be long before every force realised that the famous Lucifer is in Kouh Town. And this is ignoring the fact that they would track Azrael teleporting to Kouh town every day.
Roxanne stopped eating and thought about it for a bit. After a while, she smiled and said, "Well frankly I don't know. The reason why I kept my identity a secret is because of my lack of strength and strong background. But with my mother running Grigori I don't really need to keep my identity a secret. Even then since I always have my privacy spell on active they won't really see my face so we don't need to worry too much. "
" But Mistress as you always no magic is omnipotent. Sooner or later one would crack your magic and broadcast your appearance to the whole world. " Luciana said as she was worried about this. She watched her mistress grow up and knew how much she wanted to a normal lifestyle.
You know due to her connection Roxanne doesn't need to go to high school much less come to Kouh town. But she still came here for one reason. And that is to have a normal life with her friends.
" Hahahaha Luciana it's too early to worry about that. I have absolute confidence that no one and not even my piece of shit of a brother could analyze my privacy spell in such a short amount of time. And this something I can guarantee for the next decade at least " Roxanne said with confidence.
She and Ciel spent a lot of effort to make this spell . Roxanne even be sure that if an opponent were to use a spell like this even she would have some trouble breaking it down. That's how complicated this spell is.
So until someone managed to analyze the spell Roxanne could still indulge in her normal life. Yes, Roxanne still considers her life normal. After all Although things got chaotic she still could enjoy a normal school life at the end of the day.
