The sudden weight on his back almost threw Jake on the ground. Acting on reflex, he dropped the bag with the books on the floor and steadied Ryder on his back, completely forgetting that he was supposed to escape.

After finally establishing a firm upper hand on the situation, Ryder calmed down, breathing heavily behind Jake’s ear. All that fighting and pulling had tired her hermit body. Resting her chin on Jake’s shoulder, her cheek grazing his, she spoke in a soft voice. /"You really stink./"

Jake blushed like he had never blushed before, feeling more embarrassed than ever. The fact that those words came out from the mouth of the girl he liked, gave him a burning desire to unlive himself.

Even worse, the hot breath against his ear made him feel hot all over. His heart was beating hard against his chest as if trying to escape.
