The sound of movement in the cave wakes young Debi, and on opening her eyes, she sees the older women going through the ritual of getting up and making ready for the day. Sandra, the youngest of the three, approaches Debi, sits down beside her and starts to comb the child’s hair.

/"Why child are you trembling, are you cold? Today’s a big day for you, for today you will join the High Priestess at the altar of the Jackal./"

/"Sandra, I’m scared, I did something I was not supposed to do last night./"

/"Shhhh, speak no more, do not let the elders hear. Come with me, we can talk while you wash your body./"
