Chapter 19: Monster
They all look in awe at the creature in front of them. It was a sea turtle but its size was easily a hundred times bigger than the average sea king. And it had the sunken galleon on its jaws.
"It seems like they were swallowed by that thing." Robin was the first one to speak.
"Noo!!, Luffy and others have been eaten!" Yelled Usopp.
There was then a loud cracking noise and the Going Merry started to get pulled towards the turtle.
"We need to cut the air pipes!" Exclaimed Vivi.
"Noo!, they won't be able to breathe then!." Yelled Chppper.
Vivi looked at the little deer for a moment.
"Chopper…they are out of the water already…."
The ship was pulled again and the cracks were getting louder.
"We are going to be pulled underwater along with the boat!" Said Nami.
"Robin, you are strong. Do something.! Begged Usopp.
"I don't think my ability would be useful in this situation." Explained Robin.
"We are going to die!!" Chopper was crying at this point.
Suddenly….the sky turned completely dark.
"What!!"
"What happened? Is it nighttime already?!"
"No, is too soon."
"Then what is happening!!. Luffy, Zoro, Sanji!!"
The Strawhat crew was in turmoil and the Masira crew was not doing much better.
"Oh no! This is a bad omen."
"The sky turning suddenly dark is a sign of monsters!"
"The ship will sink. Hurry up and rescue the captain."
While they were distracted listening to the other crew, something fell on top of the Going Merry deck with a loud thud.
When they turned around, they saw that it was their lost Captain.
"Luffy!?" Said Usopp in confusion.
"Luffy!, what happened to you? are you dead?!" Said Chopper in a panicked voice.
"Chopper, you are the doctor…go check on him." Said Vivi.
"Ah!, that's right!." Chopper then rushed to Luffy's side.
Moments later, Zoro and Sanji also landed on deck, but they seemed to be in better shape.
"Let's go!, we have to get out of here!." Ordered Zoro.
"That guy was a pain…" Said Sanji.
Usopp approaches them. "You guys are safe! Ah! but we need to run from that giant turtle first."
Zoro seems confused. "Turtle?...no, it was a giant monkey."
"Must be some kind of weird sea monster."
"It was friendly at first with Luffy, since they are both monkeys."
"Yes, but then He saw the sack of stuff we found and went berserk on us."
"It was like a crazy gorilla."
Zoro and Sanji told their version of the story.
"That was no sea monster. His name is Masira and is the captain of a salvaging crew." Vivi explained.
"Yeah. Good job escaping from that sea turtle's mouth by the way. We were very worried about you guys." Said Usopp.
Zoro and Sanji seemed very confused.
"What sea turtle?" They said before turning around.
"Whoa!!! What the hell is that!" They both screamed after seeing the sea kaiju.
"You just noticed it now?!" Exclaimed Usopp.
Vivi grabbed Zoro by the shoulder.
"Zoro, go cut the breathing tubes so we can get out of here. If that turtle starts moving again is going to destroy our ship."
Zoro seems to get out of his stupor and nodded to Vivi before moving to cut the tubes.
At that moment, Luffy wakes up.
"Whahhh!."
He stretched his limbs and then looked up.
"Uh?!, is nighttime already?."
"Luffy, help move the ship out! We need to get out of here." Said Nami with urgency.
"Why?, what happe-" That's when He saw it.
"Guys!, there is a giant turtle over there!!"
"WE KNOW!" The crew yelled.
"You cannot leave!" An enrage Masira jumped onto their ship.
"You think you can steal my treasure and then just leave?"
"You found treasure?" Nami seemed to have completely forgotten about the situation they were in.
"Yeah, lots of it." Smiled Luffy.
A stream of water crushed Masira and pushed him out of their ship.
"We don't have time for this." Said Vivi, recovering from her attack.
"Good job, Vivi!." Usopp congratulated.
Masira, who was in the water, was preparing to jump again onto the Strawhat ship when He heard his own crew panic.
"Captain!!!, Danger!!"
"Whahhh!"
They all turned in the direction the Masira crewmates were pointing.
There we three humanoid shadows towering over the horizon. Their sizes were immeasurable, easily tens of times the size of the colossal turtle.
The eyes of all the witnesses were filled with terror.
Even Vivi, who already knew that these were just harmless shadows from spypieans, could not help but feel some primal fear at being in front of something that big.
"Monsters!!!!" They all screamed, both the Strawhat crew and the Masira ones.
They didn't need any more prompts before moving the Going Merry as far away as possible from those beings.
They must have continued this fast rhythm for a least fifteen minutes, by then, the sky was clear and the sea was calm. They could finally relax a bit.
"Impossible…."
"Nothing could be that big…"
"Today was a really weird day…" Sanji sat down a lighted a cigarette.

"Did you forget what you guys went underwater for?!"
After things calmed down, Luffy opened the bags and showed the crew the treasures they got from the old galleon.
But Nami did not seem very happy after seeing their loot.
"All you brought back is rusted trash! And there is nothing about the sky island either!."
"Well, there was nothing else in it."
"Yea, is true, Nami."
Zoro and Sanji tried to defend.
"There were obvious signs that the ship was attacked. Or maybe the crew turned against each other for some reason." Concluded Sanji.
"Then, information is even more crucial. The same thing could happen to us if we go to that Sky island." Said Nami.
After stomping on the 'treasure' that they brought aboard, a very angry Nami was making her way upstairs when she was approached by Robin.
Robin put something on Nami's hands.
"For you."
Nami was shocked at seeing the object in her hands.
"This is an eternal log pose! Where did you get it?"
"I stole it from that Masira crew." Answered Robin.
Tears of joy fell from Nami's face.
"The only one who understands me is you!"
"Well…emm. It seems like you have been putting in a lot of effort." Said Robin, feeling a bit awkward.
Vivi got next to Nami and looked at the log pose.
"Jaya. It must be where their home is."
