Bab 40: Dungeon (6)
I made my way down the cave that seemed to be endless with Scarlet behind me. We came across a couple bats and Arachne here and there leaving me with my EXP at [892/2500].
"How do you find a boss when your literally in an endless cave?"
"Just keep going and we'll find it soon enough." Scarlet said, "it'll take a while but that's alright, it's normal."
"What rank dungeon do you think this is?" I asked.
"Maybe B+ or A- maybe even a rank or two higher."
"Well that's great now isn't it."
Continuing through the cave for another hour or so we reached a massive door with a carved pattern in it.
"You know what, I'd normally look around a little to examine the door and be more cautious but I really don't care. I can't be bothered to walk around in the same old same old. This cave is a bore." I said as I pushed open the door.
Inside was what looked to be a throne room with pillars that went down the sides with torches that lit up blue starting from the ones closest to the door as I opened it. There was a throne at the end which had a creature sat on it. I couldn't tell what the creature was as it was covered in a shadow, all I could see were it's piercing blue eyes amidst the darkness.
"Who dares challenge me?" Came out a loud booming voice that sounded calm yet angry.
"Thought so." I said as I walked forward a little, i thought this would be the boss room and the voice confirmed it.
"I do. Can we fight so I can leave, thanks." I said.
'System what's its rank?'

'A rank higher than me. How wonderful.' I thought.
"Kiera let me fight it. You definitely can't win against that."
"And who says you can? I might be able to. It'll take a while though."
"Don't bother it's a higher rank than you."
"And same goes with you, your rank A. Even if it was a normal A - ranked boss you would need at least 3 A - ranks to fight it. So we might as well fight together."
"Fine." Scarlet said with a sigh
"Hahaha, you can't beat me. Just give up. A measly B rank and A rank will do nothing."
"B - rank?" Scarlet said with confusion.
"Ignore that." I said.
"Your a B - rank? Since when!"
"I said to ignore that. Just fight." I said with Adonis in blade form by my side.
Since I was already in humanoid form I spread my wings out.
'Huh. I've got 4 wings? That's new.'
I looked at my wings and I had my normal wings and a smaller pair of wings just below that.
'Doesn't matter.'
I held Adonis tight and used [Inferno] to engulf my blade in flames. I then used [Poison manipulation] and secreted poison from the tip of my sword making it as lethal as possible while enhancing everything, including myself, with [Wind enhancer].
'I didn't think enhancing everything was possible but I guess it is.'
I looked over at Scarlet and she gave me a nod. With that I pounced forward at the being sitting on the throne which flicked its finger up and said,
"Wall."
A thick stone wall came out from the ground and blocked my movements but I used a fire bullet and fired it off at the wall 5 times and successfully broke through making it crash to the ground as a heap of rubble.
"Hm? Didn't think the measly B - rank could do such a thing. Hahaha I might enjoy this."
"Hahaha my ass. Just shut up and fight." I said. I was too bored and just wanted to leave.
"Where did this attitude come from?"
"I told you to shut it." I said as I fired off 3 wind blades, one horizontal and two vertical, at the boss creature.
The being sitting at the throne didn't seem bothered by my 'measly B - rank attacks' and just sat there waiting to be hit.
"That's stupid. At least defend." I said to the boss.
"What is this going to do? It won't even scratch let alone wound me worse than that." The boss said mockingly.
"Sure, you tell yourself that." I said back.
I noticed Scarlet was behind the throne and that the boss hadn't noticed as he was too focused on me.
"Watch out." I said to the boss.
"I already told you that these gusts of wind won't even scratch me. Huh-" the boss monster was cut of as it felt a blade sink into its back. It was Scarlet.
"I did say to watch out."
"Grrrrrah!" The mister slashed its hand.. wait no. It's paw round and hit Scarlet and she was sent flying back to the wall.
My wind blades hit the monsters arm and left a deep wound in its upper arm.
"What did you say about it not even scratching you? Idiot. I'm stronger than you think even if I'm a 'measly B - rank.'" I said to the boss who was clearly angered.
"Your going to die." The boss said with a roar and revealed itself from behind the shadows.
It was a tall golden bear with sharp teeth and a horn on its head between its two ears that had blue tinted tips. It would look like a stuffed bear you'd have as a toy if it wasn't so massive and angry.
The bear leaped forwards and slashed down at my arm and hit me before I could block. I was sent tumbling across the room and smashing into the wall leaving it with cracks. My arm had almost broken and was bright red with blood leaking out.
I looked over at Scarlet who was knocked to the wall and struggling to get up. Her eyes were on me.
"Useless instructor." I mumbled as I got to my feet.
"I hope your prepared." The boss said in an angry tone.
"For what?"
"Your worst fear."
The bear sent out a domain and I was instantly hit but I could tell Scarlet was out of range.
"My worst nightmare?" I said.
