Bab 14: One Summer....

That Uncle of mine is very kind, gentle and a little bit strange too.....
He allowed me, someone who should be his rival in the current generation of our family, to go train and cultivate together along with him and his little sister.
He is not even afraid of getting his secret exposed or losing against me on the next year's tournament.
He even provided reasons for me to give to my parents so that they can permit me to go train and cultivate together with him.
Since the current of events have come to this way, I am also decided to just get along and follow the wave.
I myself am also quite curious at how can it be possible for him to possess such a powerful strength and exquisite combat prowess despite having a lower level of cultivation than mine.
Huh!? Huh, huh huh.....!?
His training regime only consists of running 10 km, push up 100 times, sit ups 100 times and squat jumps 100 times, every single day for 40 days straight?
And he is already on the ninth days, so it's only 31 days of his training programme left.
But still.... Isn't this training set just a mortal exercise?
How can it benefits on the cultivation?
Huh? Something like building a solid foundation from the base, you said?
Uncle, are you sure....? Please elaborate this even more to me....
....
Oh..., after a bit of lenghty explanation from him, I finally come to an understanding.
So that seemingly useless mortal exercise is actually quite good on building a strong body, which in turn will become a solid base for establishing our foundation in cultivation.
It's like building a tall tower on a suitable land.
If the soil in the land is solid and compact, then the foundation that is being be build there will be stronger than thhe foundation that is built on a brittle, less compact soil.
Actually, I think that is a very good and awesome logic.
I started to understand now, how can he win against me even though my cultivation level is higher than him by one whole stage.
Could it be, it's because of the different quality in our body that becomes our cultivation base?
And so...., I started doing exercise and training together with my uncle and auntie.
....
Oh, I never knew that doing training and cultivating with other people can be so fun!
And it's also very beneficial for our progress, too!
Just by exchanging notes and pointers with each other, we can corrects our own mistakes and progress even faster than when I am just training alone and mulling over some problem in my cultivation by myself.
Compared to when I cultivate alone...., solely, in solitude....
It feels so bitter now when I remembered such a dark past behind me.
Ah, forget it!
I am currently living happily right now, spending my day to day training and cultivate along with my uncle and aunt together.
After some time passed, I found out that this cool, calm and composed auntie who always accompany my uncle is actually have the same birthday with me!
Both of us are born in the same day, the same month, and even the same year.
That fact helps make the bond between the two of us become closer, altough we are Aunt and Nephew, we actually feel more like a pair of sister instead.
I am the Big Sister of my Aunt, though.
Why? That's because it turned out that I was born an incense time[1] earlier than her.
So that means I am older than her by 5 minutes, he he~
Although it feels a bit strange, my Aunt is actually younger than me.
But she is trying so hard to act all cool and composed like a mature aunt in front of me.
Oh, my Uncle said that it is her usual behaviour.
He he he, my Auntie actually looks even cuter that way in my eyes, though.
....
And so, one whole season goes by almost unnoticed by us....
We spend the remaining days of our summer break doing my Uncle's 40 Days of Mortal Training Programme.
I call it like that because his training regime is really set for mortals, with all those running around, push ups, sit ups and squat jumps.
But I must say that these kind of training exercise truly helps to build up a good foundation for our body and cultivation.
My cultivation is increasing noticably faster than when I am training and cultivates bitterly by myself.
Finally, the time passed over day by day, week by weeks, with the month changing and summer comes to close.
We spend the summer not only in training and cultivating.
My Uncle drags us around to follow him to go to a Holy Battle near the half end of the summer season.
He said it's a Holy Battle for otakus like him and his sisters, with all the limited edition stuffs they sold for only 3 days at the biggest convention center in our city, the Exohabara Comic Market.
After that, we also go together to a Summer Night Festival.
It's the first time I ever come to a festival since I was born in this world.
My granny, that is, my Uncle's mother, invite me to come to her room on the evening to dress me up with a very beautiful golden red yukata.
Such a lovely mother my Uncle has.... She even care for me very much~!
Autumn comes and at some time I am being dragged again by my Uncle and Little Sist.... my Auntie to go to an Harvest Moon Festival, an annual festival held at the night of the brightest full moon of the year, which happens on the middle half of autumn season and in coincide with the bountiful harvest of the time. It's basically a night market with festive atmosphere, but it doesn't reduce its charm by a single bit.

[1] An Incense time is the time it takes for traditional chinese incense to lit up until it is burned out. Usually spans around 5 minutes.
