15 minutes later...
Noah stood in the ruined city. He just learned about all the information, and he was processing them, trying to uncover the mystery of this Dungeon.
The players, that Noah talked to were one of the first to enter this Dungeon, and they told him many oddities about this dungeon.
Including the ones that he already discovered with his observation, like; not being able to leave this dungeon unless you die or defeat the Dungeon boss. Or in this case bosses.
As for how they knew that you will need to defeat the Dungeon boss to leave it ? It's because there's no exit In the city and there's no entrance where they came from. It's basically a cage, where you can't leave unless you die, or someone defeats the Dungeon boss.
As for the reason, why no players had left, it was simple. Because no one wanted to lose their levels and die. And not gain access to the dungeon again.
Noah also learned that the city was actually a safe zone. A spot in dungeons, where there are no monsters, and you can recover your strength gradually.
From what the 4 players told him, they haven't been able to go out further from the city, because the monsters outside of the city are very strong. However, it's possible to clear it. If they continue Killing the monsters and going further and further. As for using flight to get over them ? Did you you heard those tigers had wings for a reason...
The players also told him about the monster spawning rate, which was very low at night..
Yes! There are day and night cycle in Yggdrasil. In fact the day and night cycle of Yggdrasil is pretty small and fast. One day in real life can attribute to 4 days In Yggdrasil. Due to most of the worlds being covered by the clouds and different hazards, only in Asgard and 2 other worlds, will you be able to tell the time correctly..
But here, this dungeon was different because it had a sun. Though Noah didn't knew wether it was really a sun or just some crystal that was emitting light bright enough to illuminate a world.
Noah has learned pretty much everything he can that might be needed, and he was ready to go. And that's exactly what he was planning to.
Fluttering his wings behind, Noah said his goodbyes to the players that told him all the information.
" It was nice conversing with you guy's, take care." Noah said, as he waved his hand. The 4 players who got 2 rare gacha items from him were happy as they waved their hands in almost excitement. They were going to contribute to guild greatly with these items and it'll help them a lot to get in return from their guild. This was a win-win for both of them.
Noah wasn't concerned about small gacha items like that. After all, he had an enormous amount of them and many more gacha items, which some players will probably kill to get. As a wise man once said, someone's trash is someone's treasure.
Having a lofty smile on his face, which was hidden because of the stoic avatar, Noah fluttered his wings and lifted into the sky. Looking at the surrounding, he was a little perturbed and concerned.
He wasn't able to locate Ulbert. He flew around trying to see if the chunnibyo goat has strayed further from the place they decided to meet. But alas to his disappointment, he was nowhere to be found..
Not getting much concerned, Noah took a step into the ground folding his wings back. He brought his console and a distorted screen appeared in front of him, only visible to him.
He immediately went to the chat section and texted Ulbert, asking him where he is.
He waited a minute for the reply to come. But to his disappointment no reply came.
Noah felt something was weird. Ulbert was someone who was chunnibyo but a very enthusiastic one. And Noah has seen that no matter at which time he has texted, Ulbert has always replied him in a jiffy. So him not replying was a little concerning, with the fact that they were in an unknown Dungeon didn't helped.
After waiting for another five minutes and not getting any reply from Ulbert, Noah felt something was definitely weird.
So with that thought, he brought his majestic wings out and floated above. This time, he flew higher and then he stopped. Looking at the entire city.
He then took out an item from his inventory.
In his hand appeared a blue butterfly. It looked a plastic prop made for kids, however, as soon as Noah blew air at it with his mouth, it flew leaving a blue trail behind.
Noah looked at the mini map that has appeared in front of his eyes..
What he did right now was using an item.
Well a gacha item to be exact.
A gacha item that let's him locate a player. As long as the player was in the friend list..
The items name was [Pathfinder Butterfly], a Butterfly that finds a path for you.
Although, Noah can use a spell that locate players. Its not for friendly purposes and it's more geared towards divination, which Noah doesn't like using because it gives a bad affect to the surrounding and area around him ..
Clearing his mind with a shake. Noah followed the blue Butterfly leaving the trail behind. His wings fluttered and the almost lightning fast Butterfly was once again back right next to him as Noah followed it.
...
Noah texted Ulbert and told him he'll be talking to some players about the Dungeon, so it might take time. Ulbert didn't mind it and gave it an ok. He was busy after all, trying to find some secret passages to the hidden boss or rare item.
Just as he was looking around the rubble of the city, he stumbled upon a group of players.
They all had demonic bat like pointy wings and from their tails and horns, it was evident that they had invested a lot of racial levels in their demonic classes.
What should have been just a normal player passing through a group of other players, turned into something else when one of the demonic players looked at Ulbert suspiciously, as he walked by.
Ulbert didn't pay attention to them, his attention was occupied by the Dungeon. He was casting some spells trying to find some items that might be hidden.
But one of the player looked at Ulbert, as if they knew him.
" Are you sure, he is an holder of the [World Disaster] ?" The player beside him murmured in a low voice. Asking the imp player beside him. He was an Arch Demon with pointy black wings and tusks coming from his big humanoid head.
They were a group of 20, all of them were good friends, so they also heard it.
" Yes! I'm definitely sure, Damien! I've seen him listed in Yggdrasil wikis premium page." The imp player said with conviction, wagging his avatars tail.
" Well.. i guess we got something to do now. I've wanted to switch to Mage build long ago but starting with [World Disaster], I would be able to have the highest firepower possible for a mage. " The Arch demon player, whose name was Damien said, as he looked at his clan members. They were a clan that was joined with the Arch Nemesis guild. One of the most powerful heteromorphic guilds with only demon players.
Damien was a player who has started with a bulky build that focuses on defense and attack. But recently, he has been wanting to switch his build to a mage one, because he is tired of swinging his sword around. He wants to call upon fire and bring disasters with a swipe of his console.
That's why he felt excited and wanted to get the class of World Disaster. After all, World Disaster is the optimum of the super attack mage build. And only a limited number of this class exists. So, he might never get another chance that's why, he wanted to seize it and get his mage build started.
Once he killed the World Disaster player, he can use his gacha items to remove his levels and redo his build from scratch. One that favours his World Disaster class. Although, it'll take a lot of time to level up, he was rich. So, he can afford to buy ×2 exp boost card to level up faster.
Ulbert continued on his search. However, he felt something was amiss, as he saw on his mini map some players surrounding him. As if wanting to trap him.
Ulbert was not a stupid person. Not when he has been pked twice before. And having choosen an heteromorphic race it's uncountable, as to how many times players have decided to hunt him to farm exp.
However, what Ulbert didn't expected was for players to surround him in a Dungeon with only heteromorphs. If there were any other races then, Ulbert might have concluded it to be them trying to gain exp. But these players didn't needed the exp, because the requirement to enter this dungeone was to be level 100.
That only left one conclusion, as to why they might want to pk him.
They were after his hidden class.
Ulbert was a very powerful mage. So powerful that his super-tier spells can cause massacre even for level 100 players. And the reason for that was not as simple as it might look on surface, the reason was;
First of all, he was an arch Mage, second, he was a demon. Great demon to be exact. And great demons boast a lot of magical attack stats. Thanks to that his magical attack potency was high.
But it was not enough to make him one of the top players in the ranking.
There was another reason that normal players didn't knew of. Only those who were avid players of Yggdrasil knew.
He had an hidden class. A class that was suited for magicians, who boosted fire power. And focused on attack magic. Mostly fire and destruction based. Ones with AOE effect.
He had the hidden class of **[World Disaster]**.
A class that boosted fire power, damage and area of effect for destruction and fire type spells. And it was not a class easily obtainable.
To get this class, you'll have to kill the holder of that class first. Only then will you be able to equip that class. It's not easy at all.
For Ulbert, he was lucky. Because he found a player, who had the World Disaster class as a humanoid mage, and he was pretty naive and didn't even understood what he was doing because his build was all over the place, that's how he was able to hunt the previous holder of the World Disaster class. But that also came with a cost, because Ulbert had to sacrifice some of his levels to acquire the class to better suit him.
Right now, Ulbert was pretty shaky, as he understood that the players surrounding him are definitely after his hidden class. One can't be too cautious and today, he was even less cautious. He was aware that his information were in the Yggdrasil premium page. After all, he was one of the highest ranking mage players in the game.
Although, Ulbert had confidence to beat a group of players. He can see in his mini map that the number of players surrounding him was over 15, and they were all level 100. Not to mention, they were all demon focused. That means that they boasted either high firepower magic or physical strength, the later will be very bad for Ulbert, because he focuses solely on magic.
Ulbert looked behind him and saw 3 players coming with steady steps. A chill ran down his spine, as he realized that he was going to get trapped. He was aware of the tactics of players when they were hunting. They would start with special items to trap him. Then they would block the means of getting out using spells like [Teleportation], and [Gate]. They would then bombard with high tier spells to deal as much damage as possible.
He has been through it all after all. When he was being hunted In Alfheim.
"Shit! I should've stayed with Noah! If we were together Killing 20 players wouldn't have been an issue." Ulbert cursed, as he stopped in his track. Alert and ready to escape.
But just as he was about to cast [Greater Teleportation], to escape from this scenario. A blue light washed over him and the radius of 5 kilometre was closed with an invisible barrier.
"Damn! These gacha items are the bane of me!" Ulbert cursed inside his heart, as he cancelled the spell. He would be needing mana after all and the spell is not going to work anymore. They have used a gacha item to close the space.
Ulbert will have to fight now. It's either do or die now.
"If that's the case then, I won't be holding back and going all out from the beginning. " Ulbert muttered to himself, seeing the players running from behind and front. Ulbert brought his demonic wings and flew high up, as he casted a spell to defend himself.
"[Insurance of Cerberus]"
As Ulbert casted the 10th tier spell. Three heads of Demonic hounds appeared covering three sides of him. The canine heads were breathing fire, as if they were summoned straight out of hell.
The players surrounding him immediately started blasting magic spells, but the spell that Ulbert has casted was not only an protective spell, but also an offensive one and one that works through the passive use of MP.
The magical attacks hit the heads of the three hounds but it didn't hit Ulbert, as the roaring flames coming from the mouths of the hounds protected Ulbert.
Immediately two players followed up with physical attacks to cut the hounds, only to be greeted by flaming breaths of the Hounds, as they all started spewing flames from their mouth like a flamethrower.
What they are using right now is comparable to mid 9th tier spells. So the players immediately distanced themselves from Ulbert. Taking this brief moment of reprieve, Ulbert immediately brought out his console, as he consumed a mana potion instantly through the console.
Without even taking a moment to rest, Ulbert immediately flew trying to run away from the group of players, or atleast that's how it looked to the players.
All the players that surrounded him also flew following him, because demons naturally had wings and flying was a passive skill for them.
They weren't cautious of one player that was already trapped. Although [World Disaster] was a powerful magic based class, they were also all powerful high ranking players. They were sure that one player wouldn't be able to kill them.
Their leader Damien looked at Ulbert, who was flying away with the three hound heads surrounding his body right now, as he followed behind with his clan.
Without waiting for anything, he wanted his clanmates to cast spells, but he suddenly stopped with a motion of his hands stopping his clanmates too. Because Ulbert suddenly stopped flying away and moved towards them as if wanting to fight.. Thats why he didn't gave an order for his clanmates to attack. He was curious. Wondering, what a single player can even do to a groups of 20 high level players.
Oh how stupid he was...
As he looked at the floating goat demon. A gigantic pale blue dome-shaped magic circle appeared around Ulbert. Him being the centre of it. The magic circle was 8 metres wide, translucent letters and runes of different kinds appeared on the magic circle and vanished in an instant getting replaced next second. his hat glowed like a diamond reflecting the light of the magic circle. To Damian, this moment looked eerily similar to a movie he has watched recently. Even though he has seen it multiple times.
All the other players surrounding him, looked at him with a little shocked expression because that was a super tier spell. Only super tier spells were able to bring about magic circle this big. Although, the players were very strong and confident, they didn't wanted to wait for Ulbert to cast the super tier spells.
The appearence of this magic circle was followed by a chant from Ulbert.
"Roar, my secret Arcano!"
All the players looked at him with a shocked expression, as if Ulbert was doing something stupid.
" Descend, o ultimate disaster!" Another verse followed, as Damien shouted for his clanmates to cast spells and attack him. Even though a super tier spells take time to cast, it's also the time when a player is most vulnerable. As they are defenseless unable to cast spells.
"Flow, ye tears of despair and regret!"
Just as he finished his chant, what was unnecessary for him to do. Ulbert showed a smile emoji floating beside his head. It was an innocent smile emoji. One would use in normal conversation but for some reason it made Damien feel a little apprehensive about everything.
" Hehe.." Ulbert giggled, Making the players stop for a moment. An hourglass was in his hand. He took the hourglass in his hand and looked at the players surrounding him.
A super tier spell would take time to cast. Most of the time players would be vulnerable to all types of attacks, when they are casting a super tier spell because it took time. Most of the time players from their party would protect them when casting the spells. However, you can shorten that time with a gacha item.
" You guy's are not the only ones, who can use gacha items" Ulbert sneered with a nonexistent smile on his demonic face, as he cracked the hourglass and let the catastrophic spell do it's work.
The magic circle, that was circulating around him with different symbols and runes floating expanded to a staggering 20 metres and the rune floating on it started spinning at a blinding speed.
" Tch! He is a chunnibyo." Damien clicked his tongue, as he looked at the goat demon that was slowly extending his hands as if calling for something.
The players immediately tried to distance themselves from the area but they were unable to.
And so Ulbert did what he was good at, and was probably the most destructive thing a player can do...
Casting a spell, that that surpasses even super tier spells at dealing damage.
" [Grand Catastrophe] "
He shouted one last time before the entirety of the area was engulfed in a bright red light as if the sun has descended upon earth!
The entire ground shook and burnt, getting destroyed and rebuilt as programmed, only to then again get destroyed!
The explosion covered the entirety of the 100 metres. No player was able to escape from the range of the explosion. They could've used the [Teleportation] or [Gate] spell but they had already blocked all the escape route and it came to bite them back.
The bright red light covered the entire area, as everything including the ground was razed from the existence and then get rebuilt again only to get destroyed again.
A bright mushroom cloud formed, as the explosion happened. But soon the cloud of dust vanished because of the game mechanics and the area was cleared once again.
Ulbert was standing at the epicenter of the explosion, as he tried contacting Noah with his console but alas he wasn't able to due to them using items to block any means of communication.
He looked around and found no players in his vicinity. He wanted to escape, but he knew that just one [Grand Catastrophe] isn't enough to kill all 20 players. They were probably hiding outside his map range, so they can ambush him when he tries to run.
Ulbert now was trapped in a very sorry spot.
As his mind was thinking about different secnarios and cursing about how he was going to lose his best class, that made him what he is, He heard a voice coming from his back.
" You really did us dirty there!"
When Ulbert looked back he saw the same player from before standing there. However, it was visible from his HP bar, that he has taken damage too.
" You idiots are the one ambushing me and when I use a gacha item that you already did I'm playing dirty ? What a bunch of hypocrites!" Ulbert shouted back in retaliation.
He had no way to contact anyone, he can't Teleport. He had only 40% of his mana left he can't use grand catastrophe again. all he can do was use 2 super tier spells at most, but he doesn't even have hourglass and he'll surely be killed before he can even cast the spell. Future looked bleak to Ulbert right now.

AN: i know i know... it's been months since I've uploaded a chapter and yeah. sorry for that. i was really busy preparing for entrance even now i do but i have covered most of my syllabus now. so it's probably fine for me to slack off. anyway. this chapter is probably boring for some of you because there's no Noah or because you think this will serve no purpose to the overall plot but no! it will. i needed to have this arc so i can have some influence over some Charachters of Nazarick. anyway, i have already written the next chapter just editing remains. you can expect it someday soon.. also, although I'm not very religious, it's Ramadan going on and i have to fast so It's really hard for me to write. that was also the reason there was no chapter. anyways. have a good day.
