Julia Locke POV:
Marcus called Rob, and after another pair of Inquisitors came to pick up the Red Chapter enforcers I had knocked out, we headed back to the garage.
“The Red Chapter has set up in my house,” I told the room once everyone was there. “More accurately, they’ve set up in the tunnels underneath it and in the hill around it.”
“Wouldn’t a move like that be too risky, even for the Red Chapter?” someone else asked. “A vampire’s lair is an impenetrable fortress. No one should be capable of getting in an out unless you wanted them to.”
“True,” I agreed. “But it would also be possible if a skilled and experienced vampire hunter provided them with detail instruction of how they could get into my house.”
All eyes turned to Marcus, and as he shifted in his seat, I placed my hand on his shoulder, letting him know it was alright.
Across the table from us, Amity shifted in her seat. “So, Cutler, what can you tell us about the kinds of defenses the Red Chapter can set up there?”
