Bab 38: Luna
While such a terrifying event unfolded, the few adventurers nearby trembled in extreme fear as, in a single moment, a tranquil area like theirs was tattered, and blood flowed endlessly.
Many of them chose to flee in order to save their own lives, leaving only those who were level 3 or above to witness the scene. Among them were two first-class adventurers, though even they felt their blood run cold by the sight of a being with horns and a tail standing at the center of the chaos, kicking the dead body of an adventurer as if it were trash.
The body flew for hundreds of meters before embedding in a wall, where it was visible to everyone in the area. Some of the onlookers recognized the adventurer as someone from the Ishtar Familia. Though most were disgusted by the sight, the more experienced adventurers knew who she was and thus were shocked by her sudden death.
As Ryuu watched Luna on the brink of death, he was filled with different emotions. He had originally taken her in because he saw potential in her, but their bond had deepened over the past few days.
He recalled an image of her cheerfully saying she would do her best to stand close to him in his path of power as he gritted his teeth. He vowed to make sure that Ishtar would not live another day in this world, but he knew he had to formulate a proper strategy and not rush into it as it would only make him vulnerable to the enemy.
"...ster."
It was so feeble he could barely hear it, but it was sufficient for him to focus entirely on her as he saw her coughing up huge amounts of blood...
"...Do not force yourself, Luna. You will soon become one of the strongest Dragons in existence."
As Ryuu uttered such gentle words, she was drifting towards unconsciousness. However, her expression softened for the first time, and she seemed to smile as she heard his words.
While this unfolded, he injured his own palm without hesitation as a deep gash could be seen. This allowed his blood to flow freely as he directed it down her throat.
The sweet fragrance caused Luna to unconsciously open her fangs and let the process occur without a hitch. Ryuu worked tirelessly to calm the violent will within his own blood, even though it meant breaking a rule. His [Dragon's Fury] erupted, causing his rebellious blood to calm down instantly.
This allowed the normally gruelling process of a Dragon absorbing the blood of another Dragon to be the gentlest it had ever been in history. A large amount of pure blood was absorbed by an "ordinary" Dragon, causing Luna's body to glow.
Her body glowed as a gentle light illuminated the surroundings. Luna's huge body shrank rapidly as, after a few seconds, his blood could not be infused anymore. If he did that, she would explode even if he killed its innate will...
As this was an extremely tiring and painful process for Ryuu, he exhaled as he glared at the other adventurers as a silent warning never to let what occurred here slip any of their mouths. Otherwise, he would remember their faces and hunt them down whenever they go...
They all knew he would truly do something similar to what his gaze was conveying if they dared, thus they chose to disperse as no one wished to toy with their lives!
Seconds after this, the transformation was done as her appearance was clear in his eyes.
Blonde hair cascaded down her back in gentle waves, gleaming in the light like strands of spun gold. Perfectly sculpted features and small blue dragon horns distinguishing her from a human framed her mesmerizing cerulean eyes, and her body was as soft and silken as the finest fabrics. She seemed almost otherworldly like a Goddess descended from the heavens to grace the mortal plane with her beauty.
Every detail of her appearance was captivating, from her delicate facial features to her slender and graceful figure. She radiated an aura of elegance and refinement, and it was impossible not to be drawn in by her charms, especially since she was in her birth suit…
Though he didn't stare at her intimate body parts as he was a gentleman of the highest degree.
He knew they were outside, but a quick glance was enough for him to see that the mansion they had grown fond of was completely destroyed. This caused another wave of tumultuous feelings to wash over him, and he struggled to keep his calm for a moment. His anger was palpable, and it seemed to radiate from him in waves. His eyes burned with a fierce intensity, and his body was tense with emotion, though a single sigh was enough to kill all of them as retribution would soon follow. Now…he had more important matters to attend to!
He lifted the sleeping beauty in a princess carry intending to let her rest on a bed of one of the most intact Mansion in the area as he was sure some 'kind' friend here would gladly allow him to do this, as he would be sure to compensate the owner properly..
As Ryuu carried Luna in his arms, she recognized his presence as she erupted in a sweet smile that could captivate any male with ease…
He could feel the warmth of her skin and the softness of her curves, making him feel slightly self-conscious. Despite this, he continued to hold her gently, not wanting to disturb her as she rested her head on his chest and listened to his heartbeat. Her hands hugged him, and Ryuu couldn't help but look away, feeling awkward as her supple breasts were perfectly clear in his vision…
Not even an hour after the violent events, Ishtar grew suspicious as there was no news from Phryne at all.
While Phryne was known for her disrespectful behavior, she would never openly disobey Ishtar's orders like this.
Ishtar couldn't help but feel anxious as she thought about what could have happened. She called her confidant Tammuz, intending to have him investigate the situation. However, Ishtar would soon be caught off guard as a lullaby of death called for her life.
As Hestia finally had some time to relax and adjust her mental state, she had a smile on her face as she remembered the moments of "family bonding" she had shared with Luna and Ryuu. Though she felt a bit embarrassed, these memories were dear to her heart, and she wanted to grow and understand both of them even more.
However, her cheerful smile shattered when she reached close enough to her Mansion. A glance to the dead body in the wall, the huge pool of blood spreading everywhere, and her previous mansion destroyed, caused her to freeze in shock as she rubbed her eyes to see if it was real...
After realizing that the destruction at her mansion was real, Hestia tried to use her divinity to locate Luna. When she couldn't sense her unique aura, Hestia's anxiety returned, as she had just managed to calm down from all the other crises that had occurred. Despite her efforts to maintain her composure, she couldn't help shouting Luna's name as she could not keep it at all.
Moments after that, she felt Ryuu's aura as which somewhat reassured her as she ran with all her might to where he was, not caring about her bare feet drenched in blood...
