The Palace - 2:15 PM
Gibraltr looked up at the screen, dumbfounded. He knew it had been bad. But this was far worse than he had imagined.
He had heard Gabriella’s last question, but he had no answer for her. He looked around at the council members sitting above him. They all stared intently, awaiting his response.
“I, I don’t know what to say.” He cleared his throat, turning his gaze to the floor. “I’m guilty of everything you have accused me of, and I have no good excuse.”
He heard various members of the council groan in frustration.
“Gibraltr,” Gabriella said. “You have to do better than that. Prior to these incidents, you were the warden we could count on more than any other. Your record was unblemished. How could this have happened?”
