Sabola walked into Lapis' chambers slowly, to avoid being noticed.
"What is it Sabola?" Lapis asked as she turned to look at the door where Sabola was standing.
"Lady Kissa." Sabola said and Lapis stood up from the bed where she was sitting and slipped her feet into her slippers.
"What about her?" Lapis asked.
"She is supposed to dedicate a few hours to trying to connect to her powers right?" Sabola asked and Lapis nodded. "I think she is being affected by not being able to."
"What do you mean?" Lapis raised her brow as she sat on one of the stairs leading to her bed.
"She gets pulled into her visions frequently these days. It might affect her." Sabola said in concern and Lapis shot her a deadly glare.
"That is none of your business Sabola." Lapis stood up and walked towards Sabola. "You're only there to keep a close eye on her and nothing more. Don't let me replace you Sabola."
"Yes high Lady Lapis." Sabola bowed before turning to leave.
"Tomorrow, keep a close eye on her. If she tries to escape again, make sure she doesn't. And also, don't think about anything funny." Lapis warned and Sabola nodded before walking out of the room.
Lapis walked back to her bed and dressed well before Lapis stepped out of the room. The moon was up already as she walked down the passage way.
Lapis knocked on the door to Asim's room and she heard a loud thud from the room.
The doors were pulled open and Lapis stepped jnto the room. Asim was half naked on the bed with Nubia next to him.
"Sorry to interrupt you Pharaoh but this is an emergency." Lapis boed her head and Asim cleared his throat. "Kissa."
"Get out Nubia." Asim commanded and Nubia quickly grabbed her clothes and changed before walking out of the room.
Kissa woke up the following morning with Sabola arranging some things noisily. "What's all that noise?" Kissa sat up and Sabola bowed apologetically.
Before Sabola could say a word, the doors gave way and Zahra walked in with her maids behind her.
"Do you know what the time is Kissa? Are you even aware of what is going on around you?" Zahra yelled angrily and Kissa looked behind her to see her curtains were still down.
Kiss stood up and walked to the curtains to pull them open and then she realized the sun was already up. Really high.
"I'll be out in a few minutes." Kissa said to Zahra who scoffed as Kissa walked towards the bathroom with Sabola behind her.
"Where's Ramla?" Kissa asked as she undressed.
"Ramla caught a cold this morning so high Lady Lapis asked her to stay back at the servants quarters." Sabola explained as she helped Kissa into the pool of water.
Kissa walked out of the bathroom fully dressed and her hair covered with a veil before stepping out of the room.
Cairo and the other guards followed her and they walked out towards the main entrance of the palace where Zahra was waiting with Asim.
"Kissa, don't try anything stupid while you're there. Understand?" Asim ordered and Kissa nodded.
"The new guard should follow her. He has been able to keep her under control these last few days." Lapis said to Cairo who bowed before joining the group of guards following Zahra and Kissa who was heading to the temple.
Their carriage was slow and it headed toward one of the temples in the kingdom. Their carriage stopped before the largest temple in the kingdom.
Kissa stepped out of the carriage with Sabola's help. Kissa looked up at the long obelisks which had different inscriptions written on them.
"This place still looks the same." Kissa rolled her eyes as they walked up the stairs leading into the temple.
All the guards that followed stood outside.
"Welcome to the temple your highnesses." Three women dressed in white walked towards them with head bowed.
"Thank you." Zahra replied. "We are here for the annual ritual."
"Pharaoh has sent words since last night." One of the women smiled before looking back at Sabola.
"This way." The women led them into the temple.
Kissa kept her head down as they walked past each statue on each sides of the passageway. The women led them outside the temple where a large pool of water was.
Kissa looked up and the first thing she saw was an obelisk and the eye of Horus and eye of Ra around her eyes suddenly shone.
Sabola who noticed quickly grabbed her shoulders to prevent her from falling but others didn't notice.
"No."
