Chapter Twenty-Six

I quickly start to walk away, touching Kia to bring her with me. I lead her into the infirmary and find Owen and Vanna arguing.

“She’s my sister you nimrod,” Vanna yells. “How can you do this to her?”

“I’m sorry Van.” He says quickly, backing up. “I didn’t mean to kiss you. This season is hard on me. Please don’t tell Iyla.”

“You’ll be lucky if I don’t tell Kerian. He’s going to break you in half.” Vanna threatens, stalking toward him. Kerian is Vanna’s mate and the father of her two beautiful children. He’s also our strongest Aquanian soldier. In other words, Owen doesn’t stand a chance.

“Please don’t. I don’t know what’s wrong with me. Ever since I bit her, my body has been going insane.”

“You haven’t marked her as an Aquanian, and she’ll tell you the mark when she knows you’re committed to her. I don’t blame her after this.”

“Okay,” I say, interrupting them. “What did I miss?”
