I stared at Anne while she looked around the hall, scanning to see if someone was watching her. I won't lie, it was creeping.

"Ma'am, I am really good with hair." She insisted on moving close to me; to be frank, I was not ready to get any help, but the words—actually, the gossip I heard made me want to keep her by my side and ask her questions, but that would be risky. I cannot let anyone know the real reason for me being here.

'Don't' My brain warned me, so I did not push my luck and agreed to her, and seeing me say nothing to her, she nodded her head.

I so wanted to stop her and ask her about the conversation they had, but I couldn't risk it; I know nothing about her, and there are chances they might just have said it for me to listen to them.
