Hours later, Amanda decided to go home.
They drove back in silence.
Shannon was so happy with the newly bought things that she was smiling all the way home.
"Do not tell anyone about what we did today, okay?" Amanda warned as they went inside the house.
"Okay, sis!" Shannon whispered reassuringly.
"Good. If they happen to ask, tell them it was you who bought them."
"Yes!"
Amanda went straight to her room without saying another word.
'That was weird.' She sighed as she flopped down her bed.
'She was getting harder and harder to read. I bet she really is determined to take me down after what I did to her.'
Sighs.
'I feel pity for her to be dragged into this mess. Those bastards surely know how to play this game.'
Amanda fell asleep quickly after all the things she did.
But she does hope Shannon wouldn't make a scene, for now.
Everyone in Corona Austra is busy preparing for the coronation party.
The coronation party is celebrated when a new student is appointed as the president in the Student Council.
So busy that most of the classes are postponed.
Many students were happy about that.
They usually are.
Aurora volunteered to be the host.
- the day before the party
"Sis!!" Shannon rushed downstairs.
"Hm?" Amanda turned in, confused,
"Tomorrow's the party right?" Shannon leaned on the couch,
"Yeah, what's the rush?"
"I bought a new dress for my savings! And, I also thought of doing your makeup for you. You see, I'm good at arts and colors, and I wanted to show you how proud I am." She squealed.
"You're gonna be doing my makeup?" Amanda asked,
"Of course! I bought a large palette for it!"
"Really?" Amanda raised an eyebrow.
"Come on, I'll prove it to you." Shannon beamed.
She grabbed Amanda's arm and dragged her to her room.
Amanda twirled around in awe.
"I like how you did it. Plain but artistic." She nodded in approval.
"I'm glad you like it. Come sit here." Shannon pointed at a chair.
Amanda exhaled and sat.
Shannon began to work on her face.
- After a few moments
"Now, open your eyes and look," Shannon said.
Amanda opened her eyes and gave a little gasp.
"Impressive." Amanda smiled.
"Do you like it?"
"No. I love it."
"I've also been working on it myself. But doing yours is pretty fun. Especially with your perfect features."
"How long?"
"All my life. You see, I wanted to be an artist myself." Shannon said, dreamily.
"You should be. Someday." Amanda replied.
Shannon smiled gratefully.
'It's good to have a sister to encourage you.' She thought.
- after supper
"Amanda." Simeon called from behind.
"Yes?"
"Is there anything you want to tell me?"
"There's nothing to tell." Amanda replied dryly.
- Without them noticing, Shannon eavesdropped on their conversation
"But there is. Tomorrow's the school party, right?" He asked provokingly.
'To think you have the gall to remember.' Amanda thought under her breath.
"So?" She raised an eyebrow.
"So? Aren't you supposed to remind me?" Simeon growled,
"Why would I need to remind you, when you already know?" Amanda replied calmly.
"You dare have the audacity to talk back to your own FATHER?!" Simeon tried to control his anger, barely.
"STEP-father. Have you forgotten? Oh, well it doesn't matter now that my mother died and you can bring your lover into the wrong house." Amanda said flatly smiling evilly.
"That is none of your business. I OWN this PLACE little girl, you have no right to-"
"Hold on. YOU? Own this place? You aren't even part of the family anymore. What makes you own this place? I let you stay in this house, yet you still have the courage to bring over that trash you have into my place and say that it belongs to you? You really are bold as a fool." Amanda laughed.
"The will said it is under me until you finish school. But if you failed and don't live that long? We'll see." Simeon smiled wickedly as he snickered and left.
'You finally said it.' Amanda watched as he happily sang triumphantly.
'Don't act like you're gonna be the winner just because you've planned ahead. The game isn't over yet.'
"So he really isn't part of the Auriga family?"
Amanda jumped.
"What are you doing here?" She hissed,
"I-I wanted to talk to you." She said nervously.
Amanda raised an eyebrow.
"Come inside."
