Bab 55: Dance of the Lotus Blossom

"Well then, bottoms up!" He hadn't had enough to be even remotely tipsy tonight. With a self-satisfied expression on his face, Ren Ling threw back the content of his cup in one smooth motion. He kept his eyes open, not willing to miss even the smallest detail as Su Hu let his eyes flutter shut to take a careful sip. Drinking the rest of the cup, he set the ceramic down on the table again, continuously eyeing it as if he wasn't sure if he regretted drinking or not.

Ren Ling stared more intently. Su Hu closed his eyes and remained perfectly still like a statue. Ren Ling wasn't sure what to do next. He totally looks like he's asleep, doesn't he? His face was like a lake, and Ren Ling wasn't even sure if he was breathing. Ren Ling laughed aloud and stretched a hand out to wave it in front of the courtesan's face to check if he had really gotten drunk off just one cup, whether he had messed up the order of getting drunk by falling asleep first before actually acting drunk.
