Bab 209: Who...Is Victor?

Early the next morning, Everly awoke with a fresh, relaxed look on her face.

She stretched her muscles and turned her head, only to flinch back in sudden fear at what she saw.

"Valerio!" She exclaimed.

At the couch, Valerio, who sat with his legs crossed, his hands interlocked and his intent gaze fixed on her.

"You're awake." He said to her with a cold glint in his eyes. 

"Yes, I am awake, but I do not understand why you are staring at me like that. It's scary. I thought my soul nearly left my body." Everly took a deep breath of relief and climbed down from the bed.

"Was it that bad?" Valerio inquired as he drew his head back.

"Yes!" Everly responded and walked towards him.

With her arms akimbo, she arched her brows at him.

"Why were you looking at me like that? Did something happen?" She inquired, having a feeling that something did.
