Bab 140: The Lies That Must Remain Hidden

Grandma Thompson looked particularly frail as she lay weakly on the hospital bed. The surgery ended up taking six hours, and then she was asleep for another six hours.

When she woke up, she felt light-headed from the anesthesia still, so she quickly fell asleep again.

By the time she opened his eyes again, it was already high noon and Aiden was next to her, squeezing her hands with tears in his eyes.

"Oh, my sweet baby grandson," Grandma Thompson whispered. "Are you worried?"

Aiden sniffled and buried his face into the bed.

"Yes," his muffled voice was heard. "Grandma, I don't know what to do if anything happens to you..."

Grandma Thompson sighed. She squeezed back at Aiden's hands.

"Grandma, what happened?" Aiden asked. "Why the sudden heart attack?"

"Oh, it was... I think I was just so shocked."

"Shocked about what?"

Grandma Thompson looked at her grandson straight in the eyes.
