Bab 596: Abomination of the Vortex

The barrier shattered with a resounding crash, and Londar and the others surged forward, their expressions grim and determined. The reinforcements wasted no time, immediately engaging the remaining monsters with fierce determination. The battle was now a chaotic melee, with Nicholas, Lyle, and Ruby joining forces with their allies to confront both the monsters and the dark mages.

Wanadis and Casemar, their chanting uninterrupted, stood at the far end of the battlefield. The vortex above them continued to grow, its dark energy pulsating with ominous power. The situation was becoming increasingly dire; the ritual was nearing completion, and the consequences of its activation were unfathomable.

And then, the chanting stopped.

Wanadis and Casemar simply stared at Lyle and the others before flashing a smile at them and suddenly disappearing from the spot, dark energy being all that was left at the place they previously stood on.
