Bab 406: The Obsidian Serpent

The two men stared in shock and horror at the hand that no longer had any skin or flesh. The soldier whose hand it was screamed in shock and pain as he grabbed his wrist before staring at his hand.

"Please stop, please, I don't know a thing!"

"I only joined them three days ago, I truly don't know anything, they haven't told me a thing yet!"

"Really?" Lyle asked with slight surprise as the man nodded his head, as did his friend.

"I see, so you have nothing to offer in exchange for your life," Lyle said as his darkness surged forward, suddenly enveloping the man completely.

He tried to scream, he tried to move, to struggle, but he couldn't. All movement stopped after a couple of seconds, and then the darkness returned to Lyle while a skeleton was all that remained of the man.

As for the other officer, he stared in horror at what happened. Upon witnessing the gruesome display, he trembled in horror.
