Bab 50: Blood

Safira winced.

Fresh blood seeped from the wound as he withdrew the dagger. Markus grinned as he took a step back to admire his handiwork. Safira collapsed back on the ground.

She put pressure on her wound immediately while attempting to keep focus. Her vision was beginning to blur. Her breathing was getting labored.

"Let's see who can save you now," Markus mused as he cleaned off his dagger and kept it.

"Why don't you just finish the job," she mused morbidly as he reached the door of the cell.

Markus stopped in his tracks, the sickening grin was still on his face. He turned back and said slowly, "Where's the fun in that?"

Safira fell to her side. She was still clutching onto the gaping wound. Blood continued to seep from the wound, forming a pool around her. She couldn't call out to Damien. If he found out what happened, he would rampage.
