Bab 47: Fair And Just

'Safira, are you in there?'

His voice soothed the rage-filled fire in Nymeria for a fraction of a second, giving Safira just enough time to reach out to him.

'Starlight, I can't-'

But she couldn't get any more words out as Nymeria cut the connection.

"Step aside, Damien," Nymeria said as she straightened her back with her head held high.

Realizing it was Nymeria who was in power, Damien changed tactics.

"Nymeria, I know you're angry. I promise to bring you the justice you seek. However…" he glanced at the wolves who all watched in horror, then back at Nymeria as he continued, "This is not the right grounds."

The she-wolf understood his words well enough. In fact, the more Damien spoke, the calmer. Nymeria felt. This gave Safira the opportunity to retake control. She shifted back into her human form.

Diana heaved a sigh of relief, and so did Archer who had returned. However, their troubles had only just begun.
