Bab 2: The Trash of the Family (1) - 1

Three Years Later:

"Fucking trash!"

Who was the one on the floor getting beat up whilst being called that name?

Yep, that's me!

'What do you mean?'

I'm fucking trash, of course.

That was the hard truth after all, and I wasn't afraid to embrace it.

I didn't need these three years to accept it, I had already accepted it a long time ago, before I had even transmigrated, before I had been betrayed and left for dead, before I had been broken beyond repair.

I was the trash of the family, with no talent in either mana or swordsmanship.

The only reason I was alive, the only reason my dad didn't come down to the Ranch to kill me, was because I was the only inheritor of his blood, as of two years ago that is.

Sure, I had 7 older siblings right now, and I would get two younger siblings in the future, but they were all adopted, all because my dad had seen swordsmanship potential in them when they were young and had taken them in immediately, sometimes through less than savory means, ie. ripping them from their families, if they had some, and indoctrinating them with the Aeronwen ideology.

But it was an effective system, as all my siblings were either already powerhouses, or would become powerhouses later in the future.

That was just the way the Aeronwen house did things, and that was why it was one of the "Big 3" families in "Lumi", the last stronghold of mankind.

Wait, I hadn't explained any of this yet, right? Well, I'd get to it after I was done with my rant.

You see, with all these powerful siblings of mine, it was really unfortunate that the only actual carrier of Glenn's (my dad) bloodline was me, the only one with no talent.

And, because he was an extremely faithful guy who would never indulge in another woman again after my mother, I was literally the last straw of the family.

So, with no other choice, he had to protect me from all the assassins that were sent my way, but he always turned a blind eye to whatever anybody did to me unless it could lead to my death.

You could probably see where I was going with this, right?

Yep, my siblings would beat me up until I was on the verge of death, then revive me back with a high end potion, starting the torture all over again immediately afterwards.

And this had started ever since I turned two years old.

Of course, this was because children could grow faster both mentally and physically in this world with the use of mana, and this included me, as, even though I couldn't use mana, I was still constantly absorbing mana, like every other single human being left in this world.

Well now, it was pretty obvious who was calling me a "fucking trash", right?

It was my 6th brother, the Aeronwen that was closest to my age for now, and the only other Aeronwen stuck on this ranch at the moment.

He would turn 15 tomorrow, and then he would leave for "Halcyon" a school, which, unlike the meaning of its name (peaceful, tranquil), was like a combination of COTTE and TAPPOV, two old online books from back on "Earth", the world that the kid that had written this messed-up world from scratch had been from.

(A/N: If you somehow don't know what the abbreviations are, first off, you're uncultured, and well, they're books named, respectively, "Class of the Ten Excellent" and "The Arbiter's Place Pensieve of Vision", obviously.)

(A/N: The above is another joke, I just need to say this in case some people thought I was bullying them…)

You see, for Aeronwen children, there were 4 stages in their life.

The first was living on the "Ranch", a place where they could build up their foundation by training with some of the best instructors, sometimes even retired heroes of humanity.

Then, they would be sent to "Halcyon", where they would show how their prowess with their mind was as honed as their soul, as the rankings in that school were based 74% off intelligence, which was a combination of a bunch of different traits in it of itself, and 26% off strength.

If an Aeronwen wasn't able to make it to the top 50 by the first year, top 25 by the second year, and then top 10 by the third year of their stay at Halcyon, they would be immediately kicked out of the family.

Yep, just by missing one of these requirements.

Well, you might think that it wasn't that hard, but remember, all those kids had just been training their body at the Ranch and had never played mind games with others before, so getting a spot in the top 50 in their first year for an Aeronwen was like throwing a baby into shark infested waters with bleeding cuts all over its body, and expecting the baby to make it out alive without a single new cut on their body.

To sum it up, it was basically impossible... for most people.

Of course, us Aeronwen were generally monsters, and no Aeronwen had ever failed this part of the 4 step process before.

We had been trained from a young age to be extremely adaptable after all, which, according to most scholars on Earth, was one of the three defining traits of intelligence (A/N: I just learned this in psych class after all).

Afterwards, there was the step of "Odium", which was the most deadly part of the 4 stage process.

As the name of the stage implied, the objective of this stage was simple: one had to banish all doubt of their strength from a regular citizen's mind, as they accomplished a feat that only 1% of people would ever accomplish, making their mark on history.

So, the task chosen for this was that a hopeful Aeronwen had to survive outside of the city walls for 5 years.

You would see why this was such a brutal task later, when I explained the world, but I had to explain the full process to becoming a full fledged Aeronwen first.

Anyways, the fourth and final step was the succession battle, and afterwards, the ones that were alive in the end, along with the new head of the house, would be the select few that passed the Aeronwen selection process.

Needless to say, by this point, there was an abysmally low number of Aeronwens compared to the beginning, and it probably hurt humanity a lot each time an Aeronwen died, as we were all top tier talents.

But it was the way my family worked, and due to our status, well, no one could object to this practice except for the magistrate of the city, who was basically the king of humanity.

In the end, any surviving Aeronwen, if adopted, would finally get to take on the last name of "Aeronwen" (they originally had it as their middle name), and they would then become a full fledged member of the legendary sword house.

So now, back to my situation.

I mean, I had to explain all of that for only one reason, to answer your question of why I was still alive.

You see, there was only one rule during the whole selection process, and that was that there had to be one survivor with pure Aeronwen blood in them, so, if there was only one "true" descendent, they were considered almost like sacred ground, you could defile them, but you couldn't destroy, or in my case, kill them, because then the Aeronwen bloodline would fall.

Welp, that explained why I was still alive today despite being a trash.

And now you might be wondering how we could keep the Aeronwen bloodline pure if the rule stated only one "true" Aeronwen had to be alive at the end, but it was simple really.

You see, once a "true" Aeronwen gave someone their virginity, they would inherit the bloodline of the Aeronwen's themselves.

Mother and Father were like that, as my Mother had been a "true" Aeronwen whilst my dad had only become one after winning the succession battle. But, they were childhood sweethearts, their strengths were equal, and their love was pure, so nothing sketchy had happened in the process of their love for each other.

But, my story would definitely be different due to my horrible talent.

You see, if things continued the way they were going right now, then I would just be... a breeding stud.

Yep, I was basically the prize of whoever won, whether it was a boy or a girl didn't matter, as, once they took my virginity, one of us would become pregnant later on no matter what after "doing it" a few times.

The feeling of being pregnant… if I was still on Earth, the idea itself would have been laughable, but now that I was back in this horrid world, well…

Technology had come this far after all, and the doctors could definitely make it biologically possible.

And I shudder at that fact.
