Bab 95: Imprison Her

The officer's harsh expression softened a little, revealing a hint of understanding. She cast a quick glance at Gloria's face, searching for any hint of doubt or dishonesty. The sun streamed in through the adjacent window, catching the glinting badge on her uniform and adding a radiant glow to the otherwise somber atmosphere of the station.

Though tinged with mild curiosity, the officer's first glance barely touched the surface of Gloria's presence. It appeared as though the officer's purpose for having Gloria there was only a passing notion. Her brow furrowed briefly, suggesting a moment of thought, and then she returned her focus to the glossy magazine spread out across the table. 

The officer looked at the pages as if she were lost in the glossy pictures and tales that were there; her disinterest was obvious. She reached for the coffee cup that was next to her and took a casual sip, seemingly oblivious to the warmth of the liquid on her lips.
