Delight and fear crashed together like never before, each step bringing us a little closer to the end. Whatever it might be.

No matter how things went, I would mostly just be glad to have it over. At the top, Luke called for us to stop, and we three pulled up behind him.

Peeking around the corner we could see the Diaz cousins, locked in a raging argument. Flinging blame and recriminations like a game of Ultimate Frisbee.

Luke looked back at us and winked. The fact they were already turning against each other was a good thing. Their army was gone, leaving only themselves and their four bodyguards. Possibly a bridge too far when it came to putting an end to everything.

Jotting something on a notepad from the depths of his vest, Luke passed the note to Uncle Anthony. Ellis watched the exchange like he wanted to ask if they had something they wanted to share with the rest of the class.
