Bab 71: Fight with Lia
Seeing as I escaped her gravity well, Lia casted another tier 5 spell.
"Gravity ball."
A small black hole moved towards me and started to engulf everything. The suction from the black hole also caused me to lose my balance in air.
Taking this as an opportunity, Lia teleported behind me using void step and instantly slashed towards my neck with a dagger.
"Mana release." I used one of the basic techniques of mana and pushed away immense waves of mana that completely disrupted the flow of mana and disabled Lia's magic.
Lia used her dagger to resist the wave but was pushed back.
I was still floating in air while Lia was on the ground with her dagger in her hand.
We looked into each other's eyes from the distance, ready to respond to the next attack.
"Woah!!!!"
"Awesome!!"
"Someone is pushing back the lady from scarlet family?!"
Voices from audiences started to engulf the stadium.
The whole fight before happened in less than a second so many weren't even able to see the fight. All they saw was how I pushed Lia back to the ground.
"Reverse gravity well." Lia casted.
Reverse gravity well is a magic similar to gravity well but just opposite of it. If gravity well compresses the space to a bottomless well, this magic reverses that effect and expands the space towards the sky.
As I was using the anti-gravity magic, the effect of the reverse gravity well quintupled.
"Woah! What the hell!" I was taken by surprise as I was immediately elevated to a height of 1500 metres.
"Gravity hell."
Lia didn't even give me a chance to respond and immediately used another magic.
The giant pressure fell on my body as a whole planet was kept on my shoulders.
I crashed to the ground immediately from the weight and large pieces of debris and dust spread all around the tournament.
"He's definitely dead now."
"I bet a thousand dollars that he is dead."
"Come on! I was expecting a nice match but lady scarlet immediately crushed him to death..."
"He can be alive also right?"
"What? Do you think he would be able to survive such strong pressure while falling from such a height? If so, he must be made out of steal or something!!"
Audiences started to chatter again and even betting if I am alive or not.
Dust started to settle slowly and the stage became visible to the audience.
Lia scarlet was standing on the stage, panting. She was exhausted from using so many spells in an instant.
Her mana was nearly exhausted.
On the other side of the stage, my figure became visible to the audience.
Standing normally on the ground, I had my hands in my pockets. There was not even a single scratch on my body. There was not even a speck of dust on my dress. Like it was all a illusion, my body seemed completely unaffected from the onslaught of the high-tier spells.
"You surely are quite strong, Miss scarlet." I blowed off the dust floating around the stage with a swift movement of my hand.
I started to walk towards Lia. The magic, 'gravity hell', was still active and I was still feeling the weight of the whole planet on my body but it didn't affect me now.
"Well then, Lia. Let's see how you are going to stop this."
I lifted my hand towards the sky before a giant meteor manifested and started to fall towards the ground at immense speed.
This spell was a tier 8 spell of fire magic, 'broken star'. It looked similar to the tier 6 magic, 'meteor', so many were confusing my spell to be meteor.
Lia's eyes widened at the incoming ball of fire. She immediately stopped using all her magic and gritted her teeth.
Lifting her hands towards the meteor, she chanted the spell.
"Forces of destruction."
After a few seconds, a dark magic circle with seven rings appeared towards the meteor and dark tentacles came out of the magic circle.
The tentacles tried to stop the meteor by piercing it and breaking it with continuous strikes and releasing dark beams.
If it was the tier 6 meteor, it would have been destroyed by the tier 7 spell. Unfortunately, it was the tier 8 spell.
The ball of fire came crashing towards the ground and instantly shattered the magic circle.
Lia fell on her knees due to mana exhaustion.
The bright light from my spell covered the whole city like a second sun. Everybody closed their eyes due to the sudden light.
"It looks like your loss." My voice vibrated around the stage as the light stopped in it's position.
All the light started to retracted back to the core of the star and disappeared into a small point that looked like a black hole.
Silence fell on all the stadium as they saw the stage that was burned black and ashes flowing around in the air.
Lia was on her knees, covered in a barrier that was casted by me.
"W-Winner is O-Oswald from f-four witches academy."
The results were announced as the match ended but there was no applause from the audience. They were still trying to digest all the things that happened in past ten seconds. It was an intense and long match but at the same time it was an instant match.
"Lady Scarlet! Are you okay?!" Her classmates and uncle rushed to her side after taking a while to recover
"Stay away from me." Lia suddenly spoke in a cold voice, halting their movements.
Lia slowly stood up and started walking toward me.
"Lia… The match is already over…" Her uncle said to her.
However, she ignored him and continued approaching me.
When I saw this, I remained on the stage and waited to see what she wanted to achieve.
Lia returned to the stage a moment later, stopping only when she was before me again.
"What happened?" I asked her.
"You won the match, and according to our bet, as the loser, I am now yours. What do you want from me?"
"Why should I make you mine? Just forget the bet." I replied in a cold voice but I was just teasing her. I didn't mean it.
Lia's body trembled when she heard my words, and she felt a prickling sensation in her heart, almost as though someone had poked it with a needle. She misunderstood my words and thought that I hated her.
"Why…?" Lia suddenly mumbled in a weak voice.
"Why don't you want me…? Why do you hate me...? Did I do something wrong?"
"Eh?" I was taken aback when I noticed a droplet of tear had suddenly formed in the corner of Lia's eyes.
"Wow! You actually made her cry!" Lilith hovered right beside me and stared at Lia's face.
"I must say, Oswald, you were a little too harsh just now. How can you tell a girl that you don't want her? You will be single for the rest of your life at this rate!" Lilith continued to speak.
Without wasting any second, I instantly pulled her in my arms.
Lia was shocked from the sudden movement and tried to move instinctively.
I grabbed her chin and immediately bowed a little, connecting our lips together.
"WHAT?!"
The audience exclaimed out loud when they realized what I had just done.
"L-Lady Scarlet?!" Her teammates were so shocked that they fell on their buttocks.
As for her uncle, his eyes were popping out of its sockets.
"No way…" Valery and the others were also baffled.
"What a sudden turn of events…" Eve shook her head with a bittersweet smile on her face.
A few seconds later, I released Lia and spoke, "Lia scarlet. You are mine from now on to the eternity. If anyone tries to stop me they will be crushed under my feet. I will prepare a whole ocean of blood for you."
"..."
Everyone was speechless. This might be the first time someone had heard such a outrageous and creepy confession. For normal people, it would be scare them and make them avoid the other person but here, this person is Lia scarlet. A girl who has blood all over her room. A girl who likes to bath in blood coloured water.
Silence spread all over the stadium. Some was awaiting Lia's answer. Some were trying to digest the situation. Some were so angry that they would just attack me at any time.
"Umm… I'm sorry to disturb you lovebirds, but we're still in the middle of a tournament…" Announcer eventually broke the silence.
I stepped away from Lia and smirked at her.
"I will be awaiting your answer." I said before getting off the stage.
"I can't believe you actually kissed her and what the hell was that confession?" Lilith said with an amused smile on her face.
I completely ignored her.
Sometime later, a group of people approached the stage to fix the destruction caused by my and Lia's fight.
While that happened, the people there talked about what happened between me and Lia nonstop.
"Fucking hell! Oswald and Lia Scarlet were lovers?! Since when?!"
"I didn't even know Lia Scarlet could be capable of loving another human being!"
"Out of everything that has happened during this tournament, that was the most shocking part!"
"You!! How did you dominate the Scarlet Princess' heart?" Eve said to me when I returned to her side.
I sighed but didn't respond to any questions.
This would continue until the stage was repaired.
