"Lady Eli, may I know what is this that you're having me send?" Penny ask, gesturing to the letter that she's holding.
A week had passed since my debut and the Prince had indeed left some of his people in Bare Elegance. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't deliver a letter. I did my part by consistently writing letters about my dreams, even when I didn't have any.
"It's a letter." I pointed out the obvious.
"I can see that it's a letter My Lady." Said Penny in a monotonous voice which made me laugh a little.
"It's best that you remain clueless for now, I'll tell you when the right time comes." I explained as I'm afraid that she 'd be upset if I didn't tell her about it.
When I found out from Penny that only Numen's get to dream in this world, I decided not to tell her about my dreams as I did not know how to explain it to her.
I possibly can't be a Numen.
I think it is possible for me to dream because my soul isn't from this world, so the world's rules do not apply to me.
And thinking about the dream, the Prince didn't possibly think I'm a Numen right? He treated me as if I was a nobody so I doubt that as the royals and the nobles put Numens on a pedestal.
"I understand My Lady, there are things that you need to keep for yourself." I nodded.
"Then I'll send this first and I'll help you prepare for your next performance." Penny went out and I focused on tweaking my guitar.
My days here in Bare Elegance after being an official flower were peaceful and comforting. I don't need to do anything other than perform a song or two from one client to another.
Since the debut was a success, and my piece was enough to attract clients, I now have two patrons so far.
I can't really estimate my clients since some only stayed for one or two performances because they're only visiting the city and such.
Patrons are different from normal clients. They are entitled to more than two performances each day and are regarded as VIPs. They also frequently return, perhaps once a week.
The one I'll be performing today is one of my patrons.
Lord Victor Stewart.
The Duke of Iragin.
He has supported many flowers for a number of years and is not only my VIP but also Bare Elegance's VIP. Besides the fact that he is a great music enthusiast, Lord Victor has been returning to the venue because he misses his late wife.
The Lord had told me that I remind him of his wife in a good way, as his wife was also blind but is dearly gifted at singing and playing instruments.
It did not take long before Penny came back and helped me with wearing the petals of roses on my head to cover my eyes. I had already worn a dress, a bit similar to the one I wore on my debut but a lot simpler.
'Ah here we go again." I groaned as my vision darkened once again.
I mumbled a 'thank you' to Penny before she got out once the hostess informed us about Lord Victor's arrival.
"How have you been My Lord?" I asked once I felt that the old man had seated already.
"I've been well Lady Rose, thank you for asking, it's just that I've been troubled lately with my son." He explained and a sigh could be heard.
"You can tell me about it My Lord." I offered. Maybe I could help in anyway or give some advice.
The old man didn't hesitate to tell me the details as we had already talked about a lot of things.
"I'm sure I told you that he's been looking for someone, right?"
I nodded.
He did mention it before.
"He had found her a month ago I think, but then he lost her once again when I requested him to come back here in Iragin. He was upset with me because of that and we fought." I heard him sigh once again and I could imagine how distressed he must be.
The worst fight had always been between a parent and their child.
"But after giving it some thought, I can see where he's coming from. He loved that woman just like how I loved my wife. And now that he's in the city trying to find her, I don't know how to face my own son." Hearing his explanation, I could tell how much he loved his son, which made me unknowingly smile.
"I look stupid to you Lady Rose, don't I?" He asked in which I immediately shook my head to as an answer.
"Of course not My Lord. There's no parent who has never wronged their child." I explained as I was afraid he 'd misunderstand me.
"Hmm, yes I'm aware of that."
"What are you afraid of or what is making you hesitant to confront him?" I asked and then continued, "He is still your son at the end of the day. There's no conflict between a parent and their child that lasts for long if one apologizes."
"I'm just ashamed with my actions as I've unleashed my pent-up anger on him which I know is very wrong of me."
I nodded at his explanation, "I understand where you're coming from My Lord, but knowing your mistake is a good start. Now you just need to have the courage to face him and apologize to him. It is not fights that worsen a parent and a child's relationship, rather it is distance. So I suggest that you don't let the fight get between the two of you. You are still his father regardless of what happens."
Silence enveloped the room, which made me nervous.
Was he offended by my suggestion?
I heard him breathe a sigh of relief, "Thank you." Lord Victor muttered in a small voice that I couldn't help but laugh.
"Why don't I play a song for you My Lord to lift your mood?" I suggested.
"That would be lovely Lady Rose, thank you."
I grabbed the guitar that was just placed on my side so I can just grab it anytime without standing up.
I strummed the intro to 'Forever Now' by Michael Buble.
