Bab 19: The Gift from the Moon
"Who is she?" A child asked.
"A wanderer who got lost in the desert." An unfamiliar man answered. He also added,
"It's late. You should go home or your parents will get worried. Here, take this biscuit. It's for you."
"Thank you, Uncle!"
After the child left, the man continued taking care of the girl. He saw the Sword beside her, "Sorrow?" and she suddenly woke up with jolt.
"Argh, where am I?"
"You're in a safe place."
"What happened? Who are you?"
"Just call me Uncle, it's what the kids around here calls me. I found you in the middle of the desert. What were you doing there? Where are you heading?"
"I… I…" Then, Yǐ sī tiē remembered how Fu was killed and began to cry.
"You should rest. I'll leave you some tea to calm your mind. I'll be back tomorrow."
After the Uncle went out, she continued crying. "Fu… I'm sorry. I wish, we will be friends again in another life."
The next morning, the Princess came out of the room. Outside, she saw the Uncle sitting on a chair. The Princess also joined him. "Thank you for saving my life."
"You're welcome. If you're ready to tell me what happened, I'll listen."
"Hmm, thank you Uncle."
"Come, I'll show you around the village."
The Uncle took the Princess for a walk in the Village. A child ran up to them and said, "Miss, you're so beautiful. Please take this flower."
Yǐ sī tiē accepted the flower and smiled at him. Then, the child ran back to his friends. She heard the villages discussing, "Have you heard? The Zhao slaughtered many innocents in the Kingdom of Yi"
"I heard, the Princess turned into a Demon and she was the one who slaughtered everyone!"
"We should stay away from that Kingdom, so dangerous." "Yes!" "Your right!"
After hearing it, the Princess's hands began to shiver. The Uncle noticed it and asked, "Shall we go home?"
"Ye… yes…"
After arriving the Uncle told her, "Don't let others' words get you." After calming down a bit, the Princess began to tell him everything.
"The Princess that those people were talking about, is me."
"Let's have a seat."
"I have this curse since I was born, it is a Dark force that should not be unleashed and I was not allowed to use Martial Arts, because it will break the Seal that kept the dark force from surging."
"What is your name?"
"My name is Yǐ sī tiē, the daughter of King Louran and Queen Ning of Xue kingdom."
"Yǐ sī tiē?"
"Yes."
The Uncle suddenly began to cry. He hugged her and told her, "My poor child!"
"I'm sorry, but why are you hugging me?"
The Uncle looked at her closely and said, "You look like your mother Yǐ sī tiē. I'm sorry that we left you."
"What do you mean? I don't understand what you're talking about."
"I'm your father. My name is Longwei."
The Princess was confused at what she heard. "How is that possible? I grew up in the Palace along with my brothers."
"Me and your mother Yueliang were once Disciples in a Sect in Penglai. You got your Dark force from the curse that was placed on you by Jiao-Long seventeen years ago."
"Then, how I ended up in the Palace?"
"Your mother was a Princess before she became a disciple of Penglai. The ones who took care of you are the family of your mother. We asked them to hide it from you and told them that, your safety depends on you not knowing your identity."
The Princess couldn't believe what she heard.
"I know it's a lot to take in, I'll leave you alone for now. You should take a good rest and I'll come back tomorrow."
Longwei went out and the Princess tried to digest what she heard, recalling all of her memories with her brothers, the King and Queen. She caught up to Longwei and said, "Wait! Please tell me more. I need to know who I really am."
"Alright."
They returned to the house and sat down. Longwei began to tell the Princess everything she needed to know about her Parents.
"Where is my mother?"
"Your mother died from depression. She couldn't handle of what was happening. Your mother was the Moon Saintess of this era. It guided her within her dreams."
"Yueliang means, Moon."
"Yes. During a trial, I arrive in mortal world to experience the life of a mortal. Your mother and I fell in love during that time."
"If my mother was a Mortal Princess and you were an Immortal Prince, doesn't that mean I'm half Mortal and half Immortal?"
"Yes. You are spiritually Immortal but transcendent as a human being."
"Is there a possibility to control my dark force? Because Xiexie is the one who's controlling the kingdom now. He controlled my dark force to kill everyone who stood against him."
"Xiexie?"
"Yes, he said that he is a Prince from the Previous Royal family. He can control me using the Chains of Demons."
"The Chains of Demons? This ritual cannot be done unless, Xiexie and you are blood related."
"I… I don't understand."
"When we left you in the hands of your mother's family, you also had a twin brother. He was very weak. It was because you absorbed all of his energy when both of you were in your mother's womb."
"How can Xiexie and I be siblings? The King and Queen only took care of me."
"Sorrow, the sword that you have on you, how did you get that?"
"This? My Master gave it to me."
"How could Sorrow be held by someone else…" Longwei whispered.
"Father?"
"Anyways, we must do something about that seal of yours. Take a rest. We'll leave for Penglai tomorrow."
"Hmm, thank you. Father."
At night, after what she found out, the Princess couldn't fall asleep. She kept on looking at the moon and whispered, "Please tell me what to do. Help me overcome this sadness."
The Moon suddenly turned bright. A ray of light fell inside the room and took the shape of a woman.
"Mother…" She called out subconsciously.
"My child, you finally awakened the power of the Moon. Now, I will hand over everything to you. This power will help you overcome your hardships."
Yueliang's spirit kissed the Princess's forehead then vanished, the Princess fell slowly asleep after absorbing the Power of the Moon.
