Bab 296: TABLE FOR TWO - PART 3

All the street lamps on the roads of London were being lit by the lamplighters as the sunset in the westward sky. Brilliant hues of sapphire, warm amber, garnet, and coral streaked through the darkening twilight sky between the openings in the puffy clouds.

It was a beautiful sight from the carriage window as Rose tried to catch her breath from their last kiss. Her heart was racing, pondering how much she desired Christopher's touch.

She felt Chris close the space between them and his chin propped on the back of her shoulder. They were now both gazing into the oncoming evening together. She felt him wiggle, and then his fingers appeared before her face with a pence pinched between them. Rose felt Christopher sigh, and then he asked,

"A pence for your lonesome thoughts, Love."
