Bab 50: Sworn Warriors

Tyr had chosen the worst possible person. He was the only one who selected Erik during the ceremony, as no one else wanted to be associated with the infamous stories surrounding him. Lagertha's face fell, her heart sinking in horror. Ragnar clenched his teeth, his anger barely contained. He knew Erik was the worst possible influence for Tyr.

Erik grinned sadistically as he accepted Tyr Ragnarsson's blade, sealing the bond. Bjorn glanced at his brother, unsurprised by the choice. He had suspected Tyr would make such a decision. Tyr's fighting style was anything but honorable, and Erik embodied that chaotic approach. However, Tyr's reasoning went deeper. He wasn't seeking honor; he was seeking strength. He wanted someone who would push him to his limits, someone who didn't care about his lineage as the son of Ragnar. Erik the Berserker fit that role perfectly.
