"Finally up i see , looks like i won that bet." the admiral said from nearby snapping alex out of his thoughts. the man in question was leaning against the wall chewing on an suspiciously colored sitrus berry. considering that the berries were about the same size alex almost thought he was eating a sand pear. the admiral noticed alex looking at the fruit in his hand in confusion he explained the story behind it. alex was speechless at the fact his sublimation had caused such an odd phenomena. "oh right the guild changed your name from guardian to life dragon by the way thanks to your plant powers." the man finished before taking a crisp bite of the fruit.
'Life dragon? what about the other powers? are they just completely forgotten so easily?" alex was confused about the naming process the guild went through. "i know right , the strongest monster i've ever heard of and they stick you with that title of all things." the admiral says with a chuckle. alex huffed at the mans sass before he turned to look at the bowing ape people who he tapped in front of with his claw.
They looked up and he dismissed them with the sign language that he taught them which was all they needed to make themselves scarce. 'it's actually kinda nice being worshiped.' alex thought offhandedly before languidly stretching and popping his joints with a low contented rumble in his throat. he looked at the admiral who was enjoying his berry and smirked but before the beast of a man could react to his spidey senses tingling alex had already frosted his hair. "DAMN IT! why is it always the hair with you!?" the man cursed loudly at the prank while alex just chortled to himself.
"One of the days i'ma get you back for all of these pranks just you wait!" the admiral swore as he stood next to a brazier to thaw his hair out. alex just made a "bring it old man" sign much to the admirals irritation. "vengeance aside it's good to see you up and about sid , i dunno why but it felt odd not seeing you bringing back corpses for me to dismantle for six months." the man paused " it was kinda like i was missing something." he said honestly. 'oh just make me feel bad why don't you.' alex thought with a huff.
"oh yeah before i forget you may want to see your reflection , i hope you like white." the admiral said with a smirk as he ran away. alex was confused about what the man meant until he pulled up the system and immediately roared in outrage. 'why the fuck am i white of all things!?' he raged mentally at this slight against his person. ' i mean i look majestic , but still!' thankfully alex was good at adapting. the next couple of days consisted of alex bulling the nergigante who had gotten cocky with his absence while also engaging in a prank war with the admiral who stink bombed him.
Soon the news of the legiana migrating came and alex immediately vanished over the horizon leaving the folks of astera behind speechless. it took him literally a split second to reach the frost covered landmass an kill his first master rank monster on impact. 'for tossing trees and snow around this fluffy bastard is kinda weak.' he thought looking over the charred and steaming bambaro corpse. ' oh well , more meat for me i guess.' he thought with a shrug before ripping into the corpse.
The flavor was heavenly as there were rich veins of fat and a nutty almost sweet tinge to each bite of flesh alex took. surprisingly the meat lacked any gaminess but rather tasted like olive wagyu beef of the highest quality. the skeleton was the only part of the corpse left by the time alex had finished feasting and even those bones were drained of marrow. the best part was probably the points though as even just this weaker master rank monster gave as many points as the high rank elders.
