Some of the members started discussing among themselves, some were anxious, others hoped that everything would be fine, and the rest believed in their leader's power.

After seeing the results, everyone just put on ugly faces, and instead they quickly went back to settling things with the remaining samurai troops.

There was no point in being in front of that cage. They realized that, and chose to do something more useful, eradicate the samurai army.
